Champion's Incentive (reward for winning the 2026 Motor City Classic)

I want to go into great detail about what I call the Champion's Incentive. I want to really reward the teams that make it through to the end of this tournament and win it all in their respective age groups. I want this to be considered one of the greatest accomplishments in Travel Baseball nationwide.

The winning team in each age group (one team per age group) gets a "refund" on their 2026 entry fee and a "free entry/comped entry/credit" towards 2027.


Some guidelines:

- A team must win the Championship game of their respective age group. This means the game is completed and finalized, either by mercy, enough innings being played before a rainout, a regular completed game, etc.

- A team must play all of their regularly scheduled games. We cannot have a team forfeiting in an effort to save pitching for the playoffs.

- Any refund would be for what the team paid for the tournament. For example, if a 13U team registers early, pays $650, and then wins the tournament, their refund would be $650. It would not be $750 even though other teams paid $750. In addition, any credit card fees would not be a part of the refund. Matt Sandles also reserves the right to handle the refund after the tournament if he chooses (it does not need to be handled at the field necessarily).

- Any credit/comped entry/free entry would be for the same amount the team paid for the following year. For example, if a 13U team paid $650 and won the tournament, they would get a $650 credit towards the following year. This would remain at $650 regardless of what their 14U price would be the following year. This is in addition to their $650 refund.

- There may be specific pool play sites where the teams in that pool are not eligible for the Champion's Incentive. In that situation, I will be very, very clear about it.

- I reserve the right to add more guidelines to this at any time prior to the tournament.

- The Champion's Incentive is designed to reward teams that compete with full effort and sportsmanship through all stages of the tournament. By participating in this incentive, teams agree to adhere to the guidelines outlined above, and any violations may lead to disqualification from the incentive at the discretion of tournament organizer.

- It is not assignable.

- Teams will automatically be signed up for next year's tournament.

- If a team wins a tournament off a credit, there is no refund because they paid $0, and there is no credit for the following year. Now if they paid a difference, they would win a refund and a credit on the difference only.
