ST GERARD BASEBALL & GIRLS SOFTBALL CODE OF CONDUCT

In order to provide a safe, healthy environment for our players, and to successfully develop an appreciation of competition and sport, we are making the following commitments:

• We will teach our children to treat other players, coaches, umpires and spectators with respect, by observing our own behaviors.
• We recognize that the game is for the children and they play for their enjoyment, not ours. We will encourage good sportsmanship by acknowledging good performances by both our child’s team as well as their opponents.
• We will never criticize a child’s performance because we place the emotional and physical well being of our children over any desire to win.
• We will not publicly question the judgment of an umpire or coach, but instead respect the commitment they are making for our children.
• We recognize that physical abuse, verbal abuse, profanity or harassment of any kind is unacceptable.
• We will leave our pets home and refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco on and around the fields of play.
• We acknowledge that not adhering to these commitments will result in sanctions to the parent, spectator and player as deemed appropriate by the St Gerard Baseball and Girls Softball Board.
• By signing below we acknowledge, understand and will honor these commitments.

I/We the parents/guardians of __________________________________, hereby give my/our permission for his/her participation in all league activities of St Gerard Baseball and Girls Softball for the 2017 season. I/We assume all risks and hazards to such participation, including transportation to/from the activities. I/We do hereby waive, release, absolve and agree to hold harmless St. Gerard Baseball & Girls Softball League, its organizers, sponsors, participants, persons transporting my/our son/daughter, St. Gerard Majella Church and the Diocese of Rockville Centre, except to the extent and in the amount covered by accident or liability insurance.
I/We acknowledge that there is a $10 surcharge on all refunds until March 15th.
