2024 Player Registration / Release of Liability

PLAYER'S CONTRACT: THE FOLLOWING IS A BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTICIPANT (PLAYER, COACH, MANAGER, UMPIRE OR OTHER PARTICIPANT) AND THE LOS ANGELES BASEBALL LEAGUE, LLC. (LABL) an affiliate of the NATIONAL ADULT BASEBALL ASSOCIATION (NABA).

Please read carefully before accepting and signing.

1) I will abide by all the rules and regulations of the league as outlined in the Los Angeles Baseball League manager and player responsibilities at fields sheet; the Los Angeles Baseball League Rules & Responsibilities sheet, the LABL game sheet, or any league email or postings, but not exclusive to those. I understand that the failure to do so will result in my ejection from games and possible suspension or expulsion from the team and league.

2) I will be personally responsible for paying my league fees to my team manager on time and in full. I understand that my failure to do so may result in my suspension or expulsion from the team and league and may prevent future participation.

3) I understand that monies paid to my manager or league for scheduled league fees are non-refundable.

4) I UNDERSTAND THAT THE LEAGUE CARRIES A GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE POLICY. THE LEAGUE DOES NOT CARRY ANY ACCIDENT OR MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR ANY PARTICIPANTS, UMPIRES OR SPECTATORS.

5) I agree to sign the team game waiver of liability sheet every game day prior to my involvement in warm-ups, practices, practice games, all-star games, tryouts or any other LABL/NABA event.

6) I understand that I, my family and my acquaintances park vehicles at their own risks at all fields that the league plays. Risk of foul balls and or vandalism is a possibility, and I will not hold the LABL/NABA responsible.

7) I understand that my league fees cover the cost of fields, baseballs and participation only. The cost of additional equipment, uniforms and my share of the umpire fees are additional, and are my responsibility.

8) I understand that I must contact my manager by 7:00 PM the Wednesday prior to that week's game if I will not be able to attend that weeks' game.

9) I understand that I have committed to rostered status on the team below for the 2024 spring and/or fall season. Should I wish to change my team affiliation prior to the end of the season I understand that I would need the permission of my current team manager, the new team manager, and the league president. I understand that any fees paid are NOT transferable. Should permission not be granted, I understand that I would be subject to a re-entry draft as prescribed by the league president should I still want to leave my original team. transferable.

10) I understand that I may only be rostered on one Saturday, and one Sunday roster and I cannot be rostered on two team's rosters on the same league day without written consent of the league.

11) I understand that to be playoff eligible I must play in at least 1/2 of that team's games.

12) I am aware that players always pay any and all fees to their team manager. The manager collects from his players and then pays the league. Conversely, in regards to any refunds, the league pays the team manager, and then the team manager deals directly with those players. The league does not (ever) deal directly with the player in regards to payments and/or refunds.

13) I verify that all information presented on this application by me is 100% accurate and true.

14) I will abide by any and all Covid-19 (or other strains) rules, regulations and protocols as set by the league and/or field administrators, knowing that those rules, regulations and protocols may change at any time.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: As a player/participant in that certain baseball league known as the Los Angeles Baseball League (Los Angeles Baseball League, LLC.), which is an affiliate of the National Adult Baseball Association (NABA) hereinafter set forth, I hereby agree to assume all risks and dangers incidental to the game of baseball, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. Such risks and dangers include, but are not limited to, injuries by thrown balls, bats, equipment, or sliding, running or physical contact indigenous to the games guidelines, rules, or regulations, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. I hereby agree that the Los Angeles Baseball League (Los Angeles Baseball League, LLC.), National Adult Baseball Association, its agents, promoters, officials, sponsors, officers, panels, and board of directors, are not liable for any injuries resulting from the causes outlined herein above, any and all other injuries incidental to the game of baseball, or any other dangers at such baseball games, practices, or events. I acknowledge that the league does not maintain or provide medical insurance coverage for players, participants or spectators. I further acknowledge that the league does not maintain or provide property insurance for players, participants or spectators property, whether owned, borrowed, or hired, and that each player, participant or spectator is responsible for his or her own insurance and safety. I also understand and acknowledge the contagious nature of Covid-19 or other illness, and realize that by participating in any LABL/NABA event I am exposing myself, family members, and others to not only the risks of becoming infected with Covid-19 or other illness and transmitting it to other individuals, but also the risks of sustaining injury and damage, including suffering mild, moderate, or severe illness; permanent disability or death from such illness. I also understand that my voluntarily participation in any LABL/NABA event has inherent risks, hazards and dangers involved with Covid-19 or other illness and I hereby agree to accept any and all risks of injury and damage; including illness, permanent disability or death.

AS LAWFUL CONSIDERATION for the LABL/NABA permitting me to participate in any LABL/NABA event or programs, I HEREBY AGREE that I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, and assigns WILL NOT MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST, SUE, OR PROSECUTE the LABL, NABA, its officers, agents, employees, or volunteers for injury, damage, illness, permanent disability, or death arising out of the negligence, intentional, or other acts, howsoever caused, by the LABL/NABA or by any officer, agent, employee, or volunteer of the LABL/NABA, and/or by another program participant, as a result of my using any facility provided by the LABL/NABA and participating in event.

In addition, I HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND AGREE TO "INDEMNIFY" (TO COMPENSATE AND TO DEFEND) the LABL, NABA, its officers, agents, employees, or volunteers from and against ALL ACTIONS, CLAIMS, OR DEMANDS that I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, or assigns now have, or may later have from today, for injury, damage, illness, permanent disability, or death, arising out of my using any facility provided by the LABL/NABA and participating in event.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract of indemnify between myself and the LABL/NABA and will sign this agreement of my own free will. I understand that this agreement will remain in effect at all times during any 2024 event and will be valid at any LABL/NABA facility, function or event.
