The Packanack Youth Summer Basketball Program is open again to all kids (majority are boys but all are welcome!) entering the 4th grade through the 8th grade.

This is a "pick-up" recreation program with no set teams. Teams will be
formed each evening by the referees. The referees will make every effort to ensure that the teams are evenly matched.

The program is structured with no set teams so that participants can miss
evenings due to other activities, vacations, etc. Each team will play
several games per evening. Each game will be ten minutes long with running time- there are no stopped clocks. Teams will rotate off and on so that all teams get equal playing time. Keeping score will be optional.

High school players will organize the activities at the courts. They
will have the emergency contact information for each of the
players and keep a small medical kit with antiseptic spray and band-aids.
Ensure that the "resting" players at the East Beach are staying near the
court and not playing on or around the stored boats, in the water, or in the
parking lot. Parents are not to coach the teams.

The cost of the program is $60 per Packanack member and $90 for players living outside of Packanack. The fee is to offset the cost of the referees and the scrimmage vests.

Games will start on June 26th and run through August 10th:

Entering the 4th Grade - Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the East Beach Court

Entering the 5th Grade - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the East Beach Court

These grade / age groups maybe combined depending on the number of sign ups. Games of no more than 4 on 4 will be played at this age group with some 3 on 3 and 2 on 2 as well depending on the number that show up.

Entering the 6th Grades - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30
pm at the Kilroy Field Court

Entering the 7th or 8th Grades - Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Kilroy Court

The 6th, 7th and 8th grades maybe combined in some fashion depending on the number of sign ups. Games will be 3 on 3 in the half court or what the referee decides makes sense based on the number of players. The goal is to get all players touches of the ball.

This program is about the players playing - they make the program.
