I was thinking about how the basketball team has struggled in recent years and I think back to the last successful years and I think some of the reasons that we have struggle these past few years is the fact of that when these kids are in 6th though 8th grade they seem like a diminating team and maybe they were dominating so some of the players look at that and say "What is there to work on since we will be good by ou senior year" And while they might be thinking that way and not working as hard as they could be other area teams who were struggling at the time are in the gym busting their but trying to get better and not it shows up more. Not only that but if you're in 7th and 8th grade and look at the teams and grades ahead of you and think "We will do that no problem" then reality hits you and you realize there are no Seacat's or Wolfe's or Bucks or Nichols or Combs or anyone who can take over a game and take 20-25 shots and hit over half of them. Just think about it if we had a 20 point a game scorer look at how good that would make some of the other players. I think this years team struggles in giving up the ball to one person so that person can score maybe 15 or 20 a night then have a few others contribute 10 or so a night. Previous teams were known for rebounding and I think that the team depends so much on Weikert to rebound that they forget to box out or rebound sometimes. And too me when a team loses by 30-60 points rebounding is one of the problems because you're not controlling any sort of tempo one shot you're done. In closing I wish that these past 3 years are a wake up for kids coming up through the system to not slack off and always be prepared for success.

Tell me this Fields. If you had a player that had 5 of the 7 points in the first couple minutes of a game would you take him out? Sibbitt did. Why? Explain it to me because you were there. Explain the reasoning for that. I'd be interested in hearing it.

Well I have no clue as to why Sibbitt took that player out. I think with a team such as this years Rams who doesn't have that 15-20 point a game scorer it's a key for the hot person to stay in. If all year the Rams would get at least a 10 point per game scorer.

That's what I thought. You better take a look at the Paoli News forum then. I asked the same question on there and some guy said he had 11 turnovers in that game. He said he had four before he was taken out after about 3 minutes in the game. He couldn't have watched that game. I remember a couple is all. How many do you remember?

No way the player had 11 yurnovers in 3 minutes. I think the guy who said that if he was any brighter he would be dim. The player who scored the 5 of the 7 points throughout the game played well. Not a bad game at all I think if they play that way come tourney time they will be tough.
