| Ok gentlemen sorry for the delay.. I had a solar water heater that needed attending. Yes I’m into alternate clean energy as well. That’s another story. Eric I think also has solar.
Ok the new track is a collaboration of various people. Strategic alliances (I love the sound of that). This is perfect since I personally don’t have to bear the complete work load of running a track. (Its not easy) I also envisioned a track that was in essence “the peoples track†where there is more cooperation between drivers and the track facility. This fits the bill since it doesn’t belong to any one person and it’s a non-profit club for everyone involved. Art Carbonel will design the track and that says a WHOLE LOT! Art as you may know is a pioneer in this hobby of ours and is respected through out the world for his contributions. Needless to say he will design a fantastic layout. We want everyone involved it will be YOUR track, Everyones Track! It is just starting out now with a few key people including myself to help establish it. The parks dept were not as accommodating as we would like unless you want to race at a dump site so that issue is dead. The new location will be at Homestead Motor Speedway. Yes it’s a little down the road however the facility is huge and we have a lot of resources at our disposal there. They have been very accommodating and welcome us there. I think we can have a world class facility at that location since its built for racing anyway. We are going to start the track build very soon and if you would like to help just let me know and we can all work together to get this happening for everyone. We need everyone’s cooperation.
I will post more info as time passes but that’s where were at. If you want to help just let me know… Andy

| are any of you guys going to buy the new 720? before i said no, because i barely got to use my 710, but down the road i figure it,s a much better deal because now i hear it,s a much better car, and the reason i say that is you can now change the top and bottom wishbones on either side, which should be much more cost effective as far as buying parts, and of course the biggest reason is that chris tosolini used the car to spank swauger, cyril and all the other non serpent posers over in cali a couple of weeks ago kyosho who! mugen what! serpent rules!

| be carefull about what type of sealer you put down. a lot of the times, it can actually make the track slicker, less traction... adding sand helps, but then you have to take into consideration tire wear. my 2 cents.

| good luck!!! hope it turns out good. also, if i was going to do something like this, i would call around to other track owners who have put sealcoat down to see how it turned out for them. that way, you can find out what to do and what not to do. in my opinion, the success of this track depends greatly on the driving conditions. i will add a topic on rctech.net to see get feedback as well. also, just in case if you did not know this, there was a private track in miami, and they sealcoated the track, and the traction turned out to be terrible. i went there a couple times after they sealcoated the track and we could not run on it. having said that, i know that naples sealcoated their track, and i thought the track was good, other than a couple bumps that had nothing to do with the sealcoating, it was a fun track to drive on.

| Royal Palm was a tremendous built project for me. The drivers stand took me 6 months to build since I didnt have a work crew. Only johnny wong and myself did the bulk of the work. That drivers stand was 16feet high by 32 ft long. Its almost like framing a house. Maybe it looked small since nothing around it for scale. some homes are 40ft wide just 8ft bigger. Almost no nails everything was screwed down with coated fastners so it will last many years. There was new asphault placed down. 21,000 feet worth and whole lanes of 30ft tall trees uplifted. Then of course there was the burms made of concrete laid on top of plastic and then painted that was done by myself with 2 small sticks and over 50 cement bags weighing 2500lbs. After all that work there was someone always complaining about something (it always happens) There was always something that needed to be done and that project just kept getting bigger and bigger. Its a hell of alot for one guy and im proud to have been able to build it but I will never do that again unless I was building my own home. Homestaed RC Speedway track is everyones track so if you want burms and such SURE no problem however everyone must pitch in. The hardest part is location to put a track up. We will start with what we have and as a group we can get anything done. Remember this is YOUR track everyones track there is no ONE person anymore. That includes leadfinger and myself. We are part of the initial people to start this however the track needs everyones support. Lets get this thing together first and we can improve just about anything with support from everyone. Andy

| Personally I will race on just about any surface and onroad track. If the borders are made of spike and nails that would rip a car apart I WILL RACE ON IT. When you are racer you race on the tracks terms. I know some people would say " well i spent so much money on my car i dont want to race on that track and get my car broken. My responce is when you race your car only breaks if YOU hit something or someone hits you. The rest is just dust. In either case I always blame myself if my car gets hit either by me or someone else since I know I can avoide it in either case. Sometimes its hard to let go of throttle in a race or steer out of the way but crashes are for the most part avoidable. Not in all cases but most. Beginers and novices need to learn car control and it will be alot better for everyone in a race. Ok im completly off topic here although its somewhat related to track so i'll stop but i hope this helps.

| Just a few ideas, if it matters. I know that some things are not an option. The driverstand should be able to fit 15 people, maybe 40 feet long with shade and high enough to see the track with ease. Also try to put it on the west side of track, so the sun will not be in our face for most of the day. A good pit lane area and a good air compressor to clean the cars.

| Lack of Support? Are we talking money or man power. If it's money, well then that's no surprise.
If it's man power, I think you need to ask for help. Post on here and on the Sgrid conferences when and where you'll be working and what type of help is needed. Don't forget, the track is a minimum 20 miles away from most people, so you can't just expect them to show up. Right now, all you see on the forums is people saying "I hear they're opening a new track in Homestead." But no one really knows anything else about it. So spread the word and some more details and I'm sure you'll get some more help. Good Luck.

| I must say that I think th etrack is going to be a lot of fun. I see a lot of planning and effort going into the track. John is really trying to have the facility enjoyable to all that come. Man I can not wait for the finished product. John also, make sure that you come to the state race at ft myers to promote the track in miami. Maybe have some flyers and an open house date to invite all from the state. No charge or something like that. Just a grand openning or something. Just an idea. Also call me so I can make a donation. It is not much, but if everyone helps it could add up.

| I have a back pack sprayer if your interested. Not sure of the condition though, I found it on my front yard one day. Probably fell off one of the landscape trucks. Your welcome to it if you want. However, your probably using a pneumatic sprayer.

| Eric, now that I think about it. John will most likely not post it here. He may, and this is just my opinion, have gotten help from sgrid and part of that help is to get people to go to the sgrid site. Can not be made if thats the case. small price to pay if John is truely getting help from them. Again just my opinion, NOT fact.

| I get it, but it's his article. It's not like Mike wrote it. And not everyone has access to sgrid.com. It's not like a magazine that they can go and purchase to read. I think it's also safe to say that most of the people in here don't have a susscription to sgrid.com. I dind't renew mine. Whatever. I just see it as another avenue to let people know the status of the track.

| Hey Guys! Just a quick update on the status of the track. The rain has been causing havoc this week for John. He tried all day yesterday to get started on the infield (masking off, painting etc.) but due to the rain he wasn't able to get too much accomplished. Plans are to try to get the infield started early Saturday, providing the weather co-operates (track masking, painting, laydown of wooden borders etc.) Also guys, John could use some manpower help this weekend, since Andrew & I can only help out on Saturday (due to a business trip Sunday!).

| degummed caster goes thru more of a chemical proccess. because of the oils extraction methods in production. virgin caster is how grandma used to make it. The good ole fashion way!

| About S-Grid and other web sites. Just to let everyone know the track is being promotted as much as possible on any website that can draw new racers. I only control this particular site. So others have posted information as well on other sites. This is great as it promotes the track for all. As far as this site is concerened is where the local drivers could post coments and have general information including track schedual, race results and news in general. I am working on a live chat feature as well for future so that people can chat live and i will try to get rid of the pop ups and such and add a-lot more pictures. I am converting this site for Homesteadrcspeedway. if you type homesteadrcspeedway.com it will bring you here to this site for the local track topics and discusions. our e-mail list will also keep you informed and our calender will be updated with the track schedual and state series as well.

| That's great the HobbyHut is willing to promote the track and give dicounts to track members. If some form of ID is needed, existing members should still have thier RPR Membership cards as I do, that would work great, unless they would have to be remade to read the new track name.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone involved with track construction eventhough the rain has been a real pain, but I sure you all are having a great time and can't want for some racing action.

| Hobby stores can support the track in a varety of ways. We are working on some things such as sponserships banners and such so the hobby stores (or any business) can more easily support the track and the racers. This will help the track and help promote the hobby and also give the hobby stores more exposure. This website is going to be updated with new features as well that will help even more including a live chat feature. Thats cool!! imagine working on your car and then being able to log in and just ask a build question online..
Hobby stores could be online and answer questions as well on the live chat. We even have a store that will be available for car parts till 2am. Imagine that! need a part at 10pm when next day is race day.. no problem!
Guys we are about 3 weeks away weather permitting.
