| Being a teammate of Ryan Naughton I will stand up for him. Playing centerfield during our first game was fun while watching him pitch. You guys were as off balance as you normally are after hanging out with each other and racing to pound your Zima. Do you use Cherry or Watermelon Jolly Ranchers?

| Looking at the standings, I see that Rooster has only one loss. Was that the forfeit in question??
Did Rooster really have to forfeit a game because their field was ruled unplayable and they refused to go play at Irondale?? Why should they have to give up a home game?? If the field is ruled unplayable, it should be rescheduled. Please tell me there's more to the story because if that is really what happened, that is just plain sad. If I'm the Shark, I couldn't justify "winning" a game like that, regardless of what the commissioner says. It's very possible that the Rooster and Tri-City could tie for 1st and a bonehead decision like this could decide our league championship.

| Sure, we'll cancel on one of the three perennial state tournament teams remaining on our non-league schedule, Minnetonka, Cobras, or Commanding Edge. That would probably make them want to schedule us for next year.

| You'd have to ask our commissioner. He personally visited the field around game time on the day of the game, is also an umpire, and saw absolutely no reason why we shouldn't have been playing that afternoon. He walked the entire field, pulled tarps, etc. We feel he based the decision on first-hand information. All of our guys were ready to play that day and the game should have happened. We cannot speak for his decision.

| There is no chance that the commissioner walked the field. It was locked and I don't see him scaling a fence. The commissioner actually talked to Ron Adams at the NSP legion tourney that he umped and asked him about the field that day....Ron Adams "I personally told them they couldn't play on the field that day." It seems pretty clear to me that if a person in charge of a field says you can't play then its set in stone. What else would a team have to do?

| Easy resolution, ask the commissioner. He was called to be notified of the game needing to be rescheduled (which is standard league procedure), couldn't believe that there was any reason for the cancellation, happened to be in the area, and stopped by the field. He absolutely went to the field (Kunkel/McKnight) that day, walked all over, pulled tarps, etc. Nothing was locked and he did not scale a "15 foot high fence" to get in. He then made his decision.

| I also heard that Stillwater cancelled their game against WBL 2 hours later that day just so they could have a picnic. For those of you that don't know where Stillwater is in relation to our field its about 10 miles east on HWY 36. I'm sure there was NO REASON for the cancellation. You're right I am sure that the rain will take a break over NSP then start up again and force Stillwater to cancel a game 2 hours later than ours. Yep that makes sense. Obviously we were scared I mean look at the results of the rest of our games. (We are in no way talking shit to anyone else in the league)

Wait a second though, Ryan Naughton is so good that he will probably pitch both saturday and sunday. also are saying that we are not worth playing or you just dont want to play us again, afraid you will lose again, c'mon lets play again settle it on the field, we will even invite the commish to come down and watch and he can see first hand how much we "dont care about baseball"

| The decision was not based on the Stillwater field. It was based on the commissioner personally visiting Kunkel field. He did not use radar to predict weather patterns, possible thunderstorms throughout the metro, or whether the Loggers had a picnic scheduled. He made the decision based on the field and saw no reason why the game shouldn't have been going on. If you have a beef, it should really be taken to him.

| So the Sharks won a game by forfeit because of a field issue, how sad!! I think that they are afraid of the Roosters. I have seen the Roosters play and they might be the best amateur team ever to play/drink in the state.
This Naughton guy will most likely sign for big bucks after the year is over. Even with the retirement of one of the best pithers ever the Roosters are the best I have seen in 20 years.

| I normally wouldnt partake in this silly discussion/bitch battles, but this one i feel the urge. #1 The Ryan Naughton thing is just dumb... Im sure this wont end the "Naughton for whatever...." but oh well. #2 We were supposed to play Stillwater that day and we actually tried to play it in White Bear Lake as well. When i tried to get the field it was reported that games were cancled on it so we couldnt play. NSP is directly in the middle of WBL and Still H2O (had to use an abrev.) so it makes sense that the game would be cancled... i mean sure all fields are different, this is a fact, but its weird how the commish let us cancel, but wouldnt cancel the "big game". Im not a rooster or a shark fan, im a Kodiak, but im also a baseball player and have been in situations like this. Its easy to take the Rooster's side, but by no means do i want people to stop bitching, cuz it gives me something to read at night befor falling asleep.
