Looks like Minnetonka has the easiest route so far. St Louis park has a tough draw. They have to get past Commanding Edge and then will get Fleetham in the 2nd round. Tough times. I got Tonka over Wesley Homes in the finals. Anybody else wanna guess?

No one from Skyline or St. Paul Leagues makes it out of the quarter finals. North End will beat Sports Break but lose to Minnetonka. Tri-City will either lose the first game or get thumped by Minnetonka in the quarters. Roosters, if they can get by the first game, may get to the quarters before being pounded by Wesley Homes. Either way, no East-side teams in the finals.

Win or lose, our guys will play hard and have fun, which is what amateur baseball is all about. Except for you "Yaz", or John Calvin, or teachercha@yahoo.com, who doesn't play or coach for any team that we know of. You're just a loser that comes on here and rips on every team in both of our leagues.

WOW... Struck a nerve, did I? You really ought to try as hard on the diamond as you do to dig up dirt on me. Now... when you and the Shark clan... start playing baseball as hard as you cry you just might have a chance to play against Minnetonka. I understand that Skyline is an amatuer league, but it's supposed to be "Class A" so play like an "A" team instead of dropping down to "B" or "C" level.

Tri City Shark,

Once again your thoughts/actions have ruined a great amateur baseball game between yourself and the mpls angels. I can't believe you just can't tip your hat to a team that played hard and in the end won the game. However, you feel the need to rip that team on your website that you beat in the regular season but who found a way to win when it really mattered most.

Being at the game, it was very enjoyable from a fans perspective and your team has a lot of class. Unfortunately, 2 guys on your team showed why other teams in your league hate you so much. After losing 4-2, you and your starting shortstop, I believe Pitt, refused to shake hands after the game. Honestly, you should be personally apologizing to your team and your league for representing the skyline in this matter as many people noticed your actions. From what I understand, you also know many of the angels players personally and to show them up like that was ridiculous. To take a line for your earlier post, you say amateur baseball is about playing hard and having fun win OR lose. Obviously, you have proven once again that actions speak louder than words.

Joe, In response to your other commentary, I believe two of our guys didn't go through the line. Of course, none of us knew that, since the rest of us were shaking hands at the time. We don't condone their actions and they didn't represent the rest of our team. We played like garbage and lost the game on the field. Before you get into personal attacks, however, at least try and get your people straight.

Shark --

At least it rained today so the field should be Shark approved for your next game. According to your website you were the victim of some horrible field circumstances, which are rare at the amatuer level, considering the beautiful fields we all play on all summer. I swear in baseball that both teams still play on the same field, but I could be wrong. I send my heartfelt condolenses to the Shark Nation as they search for answers (excuses) for their loses. At least you guys continuely blow your load in the regular season and shoot blanks when it counts, signs of a great squad!!!!!!!!!!

We were terrible and lost, no excuses, never were any. I just feel terrible that you guys lost due to a few dome balls that shouldnt have happend, its a tragedy to play on such terrible fields like Parade, its just a dump and they dont take care of it. You had a great year Shark, id love to shake your hand.......no wait, you dont shake hands if ya lose, so cancel that.

Make sure you take dome balls off the list of excuses for your next loss, I dont think you have used the length of the grass yet, so ya got one possibility forsure!

I thought I would copy the Tri-City write up about there game so all could see. Who cares about Kleppens long foul ball pinch hitting. We only care about the score and you lost. We lost and that was it, no excuses, we were beating by a better team that day, not the field, or rust of our bats or that we did not have Naughton!! Please keep up with the excuses so we will have something to read on this!!!!!!!

The opening game of the Shark's 2006 Class A State Tournament was for lack of a better word - horrendous. The Shark's 16 day layoff from competitive baseball definitely showed. They faced a Minneapolis Angels team they had beaten twice during the season. Matt McDonald threw 7 solid innings, being victimized by a couple of Shark errors, and several "dome balls" through the left side of the infield. The Shark bats, while trying to clean the rust off, did hit the ball very hard and deep at times, though seemingly always just in reach of the Angels fielders. They battled the entire game. Steve Kleppen pinch hit with two outs in the 9th, with runners on 1st/2nd. He ripped a just foul shot down the first base line on the first pitch, which would surely have tied the game. On the second pitch, he launched a bomb to deep right center. Nothing seemed to work for the Shark on this day and the right fielder secured the ball at the fence for the final out. The Angels took the game 4-2. The Shark move to the loser's bracket and face Sports Break, who fell to the Minnetonka Millers 3-2.

I read the post the the Shark do not condone the actions of their TEAMATES, the two who did not shake hands as they did not reflect there team, but the problem is that there are a part of your team and there actions can reflect the team as a whole.. If they are on your team and you do not condone there actions, than, that to me puts a bad light on your whole team. The good thing about our team, is that if someone did that in a game, he wouldn't have to worry about shaking hands again because he would either be off the team or take a beating. I hope you did one or the other!!!!!!!

Good for you, you can copy and paste. Apparently you can't read the above post either, where we admit to playing like "garbage". Not sure how anyone can take that as an "excuse". That's pretty straight forward and says the Angels flat out beat us.
The game ended with an exciting fly out, with the tying runs on base, deep to the fence in right center. God forbid the "synopsis", on our own website, reference this. Find something new to complain about our team. Is somebody forcing you to read our website?

I hardly consider that classless considering our guy still cheered for his teammates and wished St. Louis Park good luck the rest of the tourney WHILE WALKING THROUGH THE LINE SHAKING HANDS. At least we didn't 1. draw a line in the sand with bat 2. use every excuse besides global warming on our website 3. not shake hands with opposing team after game. Well I guess there is no trash talking that we can do about results of the state tourney since we both went 2 and que but I guarantee if you polled the teams we would win the battle of respect. Along with hard work, procuring a few more guys with talent will help make the league competitive and give you a shot against Tonka and Wesley Homes. Hopefully next season I'll be able to give stellar reviews about the best league in Class A rather than remark about a league that seems to enjoy being mediocre.

After playing the Shark I don't understand what the big fuss is about these guys being huge bitches or whatever. There were a few close calls that didn't go their way and they did bitch about them a little to long but I've seen worse from other teams. In one of their games the ump blew one of the worst calls I've ever seen when the first basemen dropped the ball and was still called out which was absolutely horrendous. In conclusion, they did do their share of bitching when a call went against them and maybe should've let it go but some of these other teams are way more out of line.

Tri City Shark,

Being an umpire that does many games at Parade, the coach for the mpls angels was actually correct arguging that call. While your fielders did throw their hands up initially, then they started digging in the ivy for the ball when the umpire was still in the infield instead of waiting for him.

The ground rules at parade are to throw up your hands and then the umpire needs to come out to make sure the ball is not visible in the ivy. This is because fielders in the past have thrown up their hands to prevent a triple instead of just a ground rule double. If the umpire comes out and sees the ball is visible, it will be wherever that runner stopped which is why you are taught to run all the way around the bases in that scenario. In the end, you are right because the baseball was never found but my guess is that is not what they were arguing.
