| Ahhhhh yes the infamous "someone is using a painted Ultra" rumour. I've heard this story circulating around a bit as of late. Three guys from three separate teams have mentioned this to me.
That would really suck if a pitcher took one in the grill and had to be carted away in an ambulance because somebody wanted to gain an edge hitting.

| If its the bat I am thinking of it was one hell of a paint job. Congrats to the artist! It is an amazing bat though. One flick of the wrists and the ball goes like 450 feet!

| Not cool. Its dangerous and its unfair. Even moreso if the team is a playoff team. I own an ultra II and I could go get it painted. But I came to this league to learn from the best hitters in coventry. Name the team. Get them under the microscope. Everyone who knows and says nothing is as guilty as the batter. Let them deal with that crap internally. Lets force them to do the right thing. If they don't, all eyes will be on them.

| I think I might know who made the first post here. I was a very suspicious of a bat this weekend but I am not sure enough to accuse a team of cheating. If the bat that I am thinking of is a painted bat it looks really good to me. I am not sure how they would have pulled it off honestly. Also, these dudes weren't shitty hitters hitting bombs. They were good hitters hitting ridiculous bombs. I see where my (i think) teammate is coming from with not calling them out because I am really not sure.

| No accusations will come from me. For all I know the bat is legit. If it isn't they should put it away and forget they had it. I have no reason to think anyone is up to anything besides the fact that the ball was carrying unusually well will very little effort. It wasn't as though ball were clearing fences by 100 feet.

| At this point I'm not going to accuse anyone of anything since there is no substantial proof, and I'm not going to toss anyone's team under the bus since all I heard were grumblings about the situation and it did not involve my team. If the team who played them this weekend want to bring it up it should be done at a meeting and not on the message board as Ryno pointed out.
I've seen enough unwarranted complaints and accusations this year to know that alot of guys in this league whine about any little thing, so unless they have some sort of concrete proof which can be discussed at a meeting, than we should all just relax and simply keep an eye out on the bats our opponents use when we play them. If you have a question about a bat, pick it up and look at it and show it to an ump.
As for me being "just as guilty" as the guys using the bat, once again I'll say I heard rumours and I'm not going to throw names out there because they may be just rumours. I simply elaborate on the original post so that if a team was doing that, they know that people are on to them and they ditch the illegal bat in question.

| It doesn't take a painted Ultra to knock a pitcher on his ass either. A good hitter going up the middle is not going to be any safer with a lesser bat. It gets there so fast anyway.

| Im pretty sure I just played the team and experienced the bat it question. I've never questioned a bat so much in my life. I've seen bigger guys with better swings swing 100 times harder and not hit the ball as far. Very questionable, that's all im sayin. Great season everyone. Good luck to all playoff bound teams.

| how did europa lose any games this year? they all hit the ball a mile with the same bat i might add!! no sour grapes here we were able to manage a split with them. Not bad for a team that has won 3 out of the last 6 championships i think!!

| hey tommy just wondering what bat you were talking about because i recall the 3 guys that actually hit homeruns in that game each use a different bat, a 28oz freak, 26oz freak, and a 26oz demarini f2. Plus everyone on europa our physical specimants. All natural pure 100% muscle, haha.
