To Whom This May Concern,

I'm Michelle and I have been a part of the Monroe Wolverine family since 1995 when I first began cheering. I have now moved on to the high school level but my sister has not. I understand the issue going on right now and I would like to state my younger sister Nicole and my opinion. When we first began cheerleading at the flag level, this organization was not at the size it is now but it was growing quickly. As a family, we were brought up with the saying “the more the merrier" and we would have to say that is 100% true, along with many others in the pop Warner organization. But if you can agree with that saying, how come we are only allowed to have a limited number in this family? We are aware that the rule is you can only have one cheerleading team and one dance team per football team, and rules have to be followed. But by following this rule you are breaking another rule stating that you have to accept everyone into the program. Being part of the Monroe Wolverine family for 9 years is an experience I will never forget and I hope that my sister will feel the same when she moves on to high school cheer. I appreciate all that these coaches have taught me and my sister feels the same way. I feel I am not only a better cheerleader but a better person with an open heart. It was a wonderful experience and I wish to pass that on to my younger sister and other girls, but it breaks my heart to know that there is a chance that she along with many other girls may not be able to be a part of this wonderful family this year. Being a volunteer flag coach this past season I have watched those 5-6 yr olds look up to the older teams in the family and they tell me how much they want to be like them. Now in the back of my head all I can think about is how these girls may not be able to get that opportunity to follow their role models. To me this is a horrible thing. It is as if you a stopping a child from following there dream, to be part of the Monroe family.
We want to credit the Monroe organization for holding up such a positive attitude about this whole situation. You’ve taught many to keep their heads up high no matter what happens. We hope that everything turns out for the best!

Sincerely,
Michelle and Nicole LiSanti
