TOPIC: Mertogs Picks: Week Two |

| Okay week one had a couple of surprises, with The Pub taking two from Jr's (I predicted a split) and The Club Joques hammering of Del Padre (I gave Delpadre the nod and predicted them to take two). What happened to Delpadre? Has Club Joques gotten that much better this year or did Del Padre just fall off from last year?
This week has some very good matchups and I wish I could see them all, but this is how I see it playing out.
1. Chris Moulton vs. Sunset Grille:
Sunset Grille gave the Big Red Machine (PNA) a scare in game 1 last week and from what I'm hearing is a pretty solid young team. Moulton is always one of the top teams in the league and shook their rust off against A+ Mortgage last week with a vicious beating. I'm picking Moulton to take both this week.
2. VFW vs. Eaton: Last week The Orange Crush (defending league Champions) took two from a very tough Harris Grille. This week VDUB takes on league new comers EATON. EATON was properly introduced to the league last week with an absolute spanking by one of the projected top teams, Crowe Bar. The schedule does not get any kinder this week for them and VFW commits "White on White Crime" and takes two.
3. Jr's vs. A+ Mortgage: A+ there is good news and bad news....The Good News is that you survived your first week. Bad news is that it gets worse this week. It's like the league is running the train on your ass right now. First Moulton and now Jr's. (I've been there it will get better) Jr's is rip roaring pissed and has some vengence on their mind. It took a game for them to get the timing down on their swings and by the second game last week, they started hitting the ball...and hard. This week they are back in the swing of things which is bad news for A+. My boys from Jr's take two by complete and utter destruction. (Hang in there Mark, it will get better next week for you)
4. Club Joques vs. The Pub: This one has me more than a little nervous, Club Joques put a serious ass whippin on Delpadre last week and Delpadre is typically a very good team. I don't know what to make of this. However, I have confidence in my boys from the Pub and I'm hoping we can squeak out a pair in this one. I'm certain that they will be two very hard fought games. Club Joques apparently is no joke!
5. Baxters at Delpadre: Once again I don't know what to make of this, Delpadre has me completely confused. Normally I would call this one a split, because they are both very good teams, but based on what I saw last week...I have to give Baxters the nod to take both of them this week.
6. Wyld Stallions vs. Coventry Firefighters! I have never spoken these words before, and it gives me great pleasure to say this: STALLIONS TAKE TWO....STALLIONS TAKE TWO! Thats right, I said it...The Wyld Stallions will get their first official league win (not by forfeit) but by actually winning a pair here. The Stallions have been hanging around this league for awhile now and no one deserves to win like they do. I love these guys for their dedication! Party on dudes!
7. PNA vs. Crowe: Wow! This one is gonna be great! Crowe is projected to be in the running this year, and PNA is always a great team. PNA has a great mix of young talented guys with experienced veterans and Crowe is one of the teams that gets better every year and has taken a step forward yet again this year. I will call this one a split.
8. Harris vs. Bothelo: This one is in my opinion the true game of the week. Both teams are very, very good and this will prove to be a very tough matchup. I'm going to have to call this one a split as well. I wish I could be there to see this one play out!

| We are missing at least me and Phil this week. Last week we didn't have Phil, Tommy C, or Beaver. But soon we will all be there at the same time and this could be a scary PNA lineup. Then you can start predicting sweeps Uncle Mertie.

| Here We Go Week 2
CM vs Sunset Even Tho CM Thumped A + sunset has gotten better they stand a chance they could possibly sneak one out if they play perfect but im going with CM taking 2
VFW vs Eaton Well As Much as i think we would all like to see artie b the first team to fall to one of the newcomers were all a lil smarter than that VFW takes 2 in what i think to b one of the quickest games of the season
JR's vs A+ Jr's In A Massacre The Guys Who Were There Last Week Are Pissed And Lookin For Runs Like Old Times lets hope we can get big dawg lem and brownie there and get back to scoring 30 runs JR's Takes 2
Club Jokes vs The Pub Well Normally Id Say That Jokes Has no Chance But They Beat Del padre with ease this is more of a test for the jokesters but i say the pub is to strong for them and the pub takes 2 altho as much as JR's Likes Mert and the guys 2 loses to jokes would help us out hahah sorry mert
Baxters vs Del padre It will b interesting to see what del padre team shows up the one that hits and plays well or the team that is hung over and fallin down this could easily be a split but im going with baxters to steal 2
Stallions vs fire fighters its been a long time coming for our freinds from the stallions but i think they might get there first win and first sweep good luck to you guys and if u win u better be drinkin heavily

PNA vs Crowe well this one could possibly b a split i dont know who the pna picked up this year we will have to see how they mesh together and see how teh new guys from the crowe play im gonna go with a Split
Harris vs Bothelo this is a rematch of round 1 of the playoffs last year that harris took in 2 im sure there will b some revenge on the mind of the bothelo guys who played last year i think this will def b the game of the week its hard to say which way it will fall im gonna go out on a limb here and go against my guys i think smitty is gonna have his men pumped and ready to go bothelo takes 2 which both very well could go to extra's
good luck to everyone and where is everyone drinkin after the games? we have the late game at hunters and im sure harris will b drinkin any other takers ?

You have the late game at Hunters? We'll be there playing Joques in the first game so we'll see you there. Maybe I'll hang and get beers for ya!
I'll be honest, Joques has me a little worried this week...they put it on Delpadre! We definately need to step it up against them this week. If you guys had Brownie and Lemdawg it would have been a completely different story. Pub can't drink the Koolaid just yet!
