| Food for thought for everyone. Per game costs approx:
1 Umpire = $20 Lights = $5 Scorekeeper = $8 Park/Field Prep = $2 Lime = $1
So just the basics come to $36 a game or $18 a team. $18 x say 16 games = $288.
That doesn't include trophies, balls, or your $30 ASA registration fee if your TEAMNAME didn't play in the summer league.

| An idea to get more teams involved...Send some kind of mailing to local businesses or put an article about the league in the newspaper. We wanted to have a team but had to really had to search to find the league.

| Lester, last year I had it put in the Southern Illinoisan. Call the paper and ask for the sports desk. They'll put a little blurb in the paper about the league starting. If they do more than that or if they put in an ad, then we'd have to pay for it. I didn't have any new teams sign up because of the newspaper ad, so I didn't do it this year. But it wouldn't hurt.
I have never had any luck with the Marion Daily Republican. Don't know why, but I've tried a couple of times.
Don used to have them put the standings in the paper like every other week, but we didn't have the website back then.

| would the city of marion help on funding for radio adds or adds in marion paper? Talking about all the different types of leagues that marion softball offers ? If not ,maybe add 5 or 10 dollars per team , for advertising cost?? Have open softball meeting.. majority rules!!
