| The Shark and Loggers tied last night after 10 innings. I have never heard a "tie" in baseball unless you are referring to Little League where everyone is a winner.
Is this a Class A amateur league rule? Or a Skyline thing? I think there needs to be a rule change.

| It probably has to do with the fact that there are no lights for the field and it simply got too dark for the game to continue.
Do you know if the game was officially left as a tie or will they continue the game at a later date should it somehow affect the seeding for the playoffs?

| Sorry, I should of made it more clear that it will be left as a tie. Apparently in the Skyline, they like to run the league soccer style.
No matter what, it's left as a tie. Even it does affect the seedings, which it probably will.
Lame if you ask me.

| Sharkbite, you are way off base.
2-3 years ago at the league off season meetings this topic was discussed at length. Some teams that play heavy schedules (such as the shark) didn't want to bump other games to play an unknown number of innings to finish a tie, while other teams didn't want the extra expense of umpires and fields for another date. But overall, it came down to a concern about scheduling and so the teams present voted unanimously in favor of the current rule.
The Shark were present and voted for this rule. Do your homework and you won't look like a dufus.

| George-
Do you think I'm a coach or a player? Probably not since I didn't know the rule and who voted for what.
I asked a question because I didn't know and wanted the answer.
I didn't need a smart ass comment about how dumb I am when I wasn't informed on Skyline League Rules. Thanks.

| SharkBite, that's my point. Find out what the rules are and why, and then make your comment. You didn't ask a question, you made statements.
I didn't say you are stupid. I said your uninformed statements made you sound like a dufus.

| Sharkbiteme; check with your coach first; he has all pertinent information. That way you don't sound like a dufus.

| Thanks for piggy backing on that files.
Just so everyone is clear on this issue, before you make a comment on this forum or state your opinion, check with your coach, league, city, and local library to get all the information before making statements.
I would suggest a lawyer too. That way, you can provide statements that won't make you sound like a dufus.

| No, before you COMPLAIN, or WHINE (ie: Shark terrain), or say that you've never HEARD of a rule, why not talk to your coach WHEN IT HAPPENS rather than asking asinine questions on a forum? Your league, including your team, voted to implement the rule.
Does ANYONE on the Sharks get it?

Are you illiterate? I don't play or coach for the shark! How am I supposed to know the rules if I don't play in the league?
This forum has become littered with idiots.

Who names themselves files? Is that short for Pedafile?
