| Guys,
I just wanted to thank the Bulls coaches and players for helping us get set up in a great tourney this weekend.
Thanks to Masters, Atkinson, McKnight, Swagers and Keith from the Bulls.
Joining the Bulls team this weekend was-
- Mackay (Burlington Bandits)
- MacKenzie (Burlington Bandits)
- Cude (Burlington Bandits)
- Taylor (Milton Red Sox)
- Persaud (Pickering Pirates)
- King (Durham Chiefs)
Game #1 (14-9 W vs Sentinel Devils MSBA)
- Taylor went deep twice with a three run shot and a two run shot and added a sac fly for a 6 RBI game
- Swagers went deep with a bomb
- Mackay battled for 7 innings throwing a complete game to rest some key arms
Game #2 (8-1 W vs Peterborough Champs PRBA)
- Swagers pitched 5 innings for the mercy win simply overpowering the hitters
- Taylor just missed a 3rd bomb of the tourney hitting one inches foul
Game #3 (Semi-finals L 6-5 vs York Diamonds MSBA)
- York had walked into this game in 1st place within their league and dominated the round robin portion of the tourney
- Leads changed hands several times throughout a tight game
- McKnight pitched against the York ace for 6 1/3 innings
- Masters with a great coaching move and the winning run on 2nd in the bottom of the 7th elected to walk York's top hitter and brought on Swagers who got us out of the inning
- The game went to extra innings with both teams shutting each other down in tight situations with runners on until the 11th inning- Swagers remained in the game while York's starter had been relieved going into the 9th
- We added the go-ahead run in the 11th only to have York score 2 runs to win in the bottom of the inning
This game was definitely exciting with several tense moments and was one the best games that I've got to play in before.
Using a 9 man lineup all players got several at-bats and contributions were made by all. The defense was shaky in game #1 but the team came together as we progressed and looked vey solid by the end.
