I AM OFFICIALLY RESIGNING MY PRESIDENCY OF THE HARBORCREEK SOFTBALL LEAGUE TO TAKE EFFECT 9/30/07. BY THEN ALL MONIES SHOULD BE COLLECTED TO OFFICIALLY CLOSE OUT THE YEAR. WE HAVE $480 DUE BACK TO US FROM THE UMPIRES. THIS SHOULD GIVE US$1703.00 IN OUR ACCOUNT UP FROM THE $734.00 WHEN WE STARTED THE SEASON. I HAVE SEVERAL REASONS FOR MY RESIGNATION. FIRST AND FOREMOST IS THE TIME INVOLVED. THE LAST 2 WEEKS OF JULY AND THE MONTH OF AUGUST IS JUST CRAZY. I TALK TO STEVE DAVIS (UMPIRE SCHEDULER) MORE THAN MY WIFE. ALSO TRYING TO COLLECT MONEY IS JUST RIDICULOUS. KERRY DOLAN IS NOT THE ONLY CULPRIT OVER THE YEARS, AND NOT THIS YEAR. BUT AS PRESIDENT OF A LEAGUE YOU TRY TO KEEP THE LEAGUE STRONG WITHOUT LOSING TEAMS AND HAVING FORFEITS. SO YOU WORK WITH TEAMS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T WORK OUT. BUT INSTEAD OF BASHING KERRY, YOU SHOULD FEEL SORRY FOR THE GUY. HE LOST HIS BUSINESS, HIS LIVELIHOOD.
I THANK JEREMY AND HIS TEAM FOR STEPPING UP AND ALSO KYLE FOUST AND HIS TEAM. BUT ESPECIALLY I THANK GROOVY. HE PERSONALLY TOOK OVER THE DEBT FOR THE SMOKE TEAM, NO HELP FROM ANYONE ELSE THAT I KNOW OF. ALSO THANKS TO GROOVE FOR HELPING ME OUT AT THE FIELD THIS YEAR. AS FOR "WOW" FROM PREVIOUS MESSAGES POSTED(MAYBE YOUR NAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED) I'M SURE YOU WEREN'T AROUND WHEN I TOOK OVER THE LEAGUE BECAUSE I CAUGHT THE PREVIOUS PRESIDENT USING LEAGUE MONEY. WE WERE OVER 2THOUSAND DOLLARS IN THE HOLE WITH ABOUT 100 PEOPLE OWED MONEY. I WORKED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE WOULD GET PAID AND STILL HAVE A SOFTBALL SEASON. LEAGUE DROPPED FROM 18 TEAMS TO 11 FOR THE NEXT YEAR. WE BUILT THIS LEAGUE BACK UP. YOU MENTIONED A TREASURY REPORT AS DID GENE FOLMAR AT A MEETING. WELL THAT WAS AN INSULT TO ME AND NOT TAKEN WELL. A TREASURY REPORT WAS ISSUED. NOW IS TIME FOR YOU, BIG MOUTH, TO STEP UP AND RUN THIS LEAGUE YOU OBVIOUSLY THINK IS SO EASY. GOOD LUCK!!!! ANOTHER REASON FOR MY DEPARTURE IS HAVING TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE GENE FOLMAR OVER THE YEARS. PEOPLE LIKE HIM MAKE AN ALREADY TOUGH JOB EVEN MORE UNBEARABLE. THERE SHOULD BE MORE PEOPLE LIKE DEWEY AND GROOVY. ANYWAYS WE SURVIVED THE YEAR. CONGRATULATIONS TO BONNELL'S, ONE WAY INN,AND CM MILLER. THE "D" PLAY-OFF ENDED IN A MUTUAL 1-1 STANDOFF AS THEY COULDN'T AGREE ON A DATE TO FINISH THEIR SERIES. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO PRAISE THE D&B TEAM IN THEIR SERIES WITH BONNELL'S. THEY PLAYED A TOTAL OF 20 INNINGS WITH BONNELL'S AND LED 18 OF THEM, ALSO A TRIBUTE TO BONNELL'S TO HANG AND WIN. AS FOR POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS FOR ME BRIAN DEWEY IS YOUR BEST CHOICE BUT HE'S NOT INTERESTED. ALSO JEREMY BOLLINGER, BILL BENES, AND MARK MCGARVEY(GROOVY) SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ALONG WITH"WOW". THANKS TO KYLE , GROOVY, JEREMY BILL , CARL, MIKE AND ANYONE ELSE WHO SERVED ON THE BOARD AND GAVE ME ASSISTANCE. AND THANKS TO ALL WHO CO-OPERATED OVER THE YEARS TO MAKE MY JOB EASIER. I'VE MADE ALOT OF FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS AND CHERISH THEIR FRIENDSHIP AND MEMORIES. GOOD LUCK IN FUTURE LEAGUE ENDEAVORS. BRAD SMITH

i would like to be the first to thank you for making this league fun and enjoyable, Brad. this was my first year as our manager, but i know our team has always had problems with sponsers. We really appreciated your patience when it came to putting the cash together. I just hope you stick around the league and pitch for years to come, since we finally figured out how to hit you.(LOL) THANKS BRAD

I think everyone knows how I feel about this but I cant say enough how much we appreciate all of your hard work.

I played for Brad while he ran this league and I played for D.J. when he ran the Erie League. It's the toughest job that nobody knows about.

I can remember getting mad at Brad when we played together because instead of warming up to pitch a game that started in 10 minutes, he would be rescheduling, resloving problems, or even listening to complaints from other managers. The duties of the commish never stop!

For the few of us who were around before Brad took over, he really saved us. It was a complete fu&% up before he took control and built it back up.

It's the best league and I am very worried about what happens next.

But I dont blame him, its just not the kind of job you can do forever (unless you just hate having free summertime).

I know we will see you around the field because you love it so much. As a matter of fact, I bet you will love it even more when you are just playing!

It cant be said enough, Thanks for saving our league!

maybe with the extra money the league should have a team managers meeting with pizza etc and also vote on a replacement for brad. this should give brads successor extra time that he may need so he isn't behind the 8-ball.

No way

Kyle is a crook and a hippocrit too. It would be a shame and the league we take 10 steps backwards if he was even considered

As for the suggestion I think its a good idea to get together and vote for a new president, within reasonable time.

I agree with groove and suggestion, a meeting would be in the best interest of the league. i guess since brad resigned, it is jeremy's job to call the meeting, unless brad would do it one last time.

I would like to personal thank Brad for the hard work and years of service he has put into this league, he will be missed, when my team first started 6 years ago he helped out then and helped out every single year after that. He help my team out this year when the situation with Fireside came up and was very reasonable. As someone who is in business, I know what Kerry went through because plans don't always work out as you thought. I have no hard feelings towards Kerry, and neither does my team or should anyone else. We paid the league fees ourselves the first year so it wasn't something new to us. Brad has dealt with so many headaches that they couldn't be listed if anyone tried to. There are 14 teams in this league, if every team has 10 players that is over 140 people that he has to keep to happy, which is next to impossible.

I will be getting a hold of every team manager here shortly so we can get a jump on this ASAP. Managers this is a time to put any feelings aside as we need to find a replacement that hopefully can be as successful as Brad was. I am also going to extend a hand to Brad and hope that he will help out who ever is next to step up to the plate.

Again Thank you Brad!!!!
