Here's to Rodney going on a business trip for a few weeks. And take Krause, Lange and Posey with you. If, on that trip, you see any crazy homeless guys complaining about their ex-girlfriends, tell Ike we miss him.

| I will take off the commissioner hat and respond as the manager of the Red Sox. I am proud of my team. I want to thank Capt Bringshit for his veiled compliment. Unlike every upper division team who made poor cases to get borderline eligible players included, we played with what we had. We made no excuses. For spending most of the season in the 5th and 6th slot, we were the only team to have series victories against all upper division teams. At the end of the regular season we finished with the 3rd most runs scored and 3rd fewest allowed. Despite all the adversity we endured we must have done something right. We did have MIA's in September but we didn't get chased off the field. Oh, Capt. Bringshit beat somebody in the playoffs then brag. You sound like a certain running back who plays for the local lambs.

| Oh calm down. Someday your team can be a part of that "upper division". At least you didnt suffer the indignity of losing the play-in game. I have played with and like every one of the Chiefs. I screw with them because they are my friends. I dont think I took too much delight in beating them.I am surprised at your reaction. Usually it takes a whole lot to get under your skin. No, that wasn't a fat joke. Is there a trophy for making it all the way to the quarterfinals of the Fountain of Youth League? Dude get a sense of humor like every one else on this board. Feel free to put your commissioner's hat back on, and come on out Sunday. I will personally pour you a pitcher of Yourenotplayinganymore beer. Thank you, good night!

| God, I wish I could let this one go, but you all know I can't. Archie, I assume that borderline players eligible is a shot at us, and I assume it is about Dierkes. You told me you counted 7 games, and I told you I had him at 8 and asked you to recount. I assume you did, because your words to me were "you can use Dierkes." What is borderline eligible? A player is either in or out and YOU make that determination.
What are you considering upper division teams here?
It doesnt matter what slot you spend time during the season, it's where you finish, and naturally, to finish higher, you have to beat higher ranked teams. And yeah, you got two victories against us this year, but did you really BEAT us? The first game you deserved, I'll give you that one but the 2nd game we flat out handed you. All the adversity? Come on. We had plenty of adversity and we went 20-7.
Archie (and the rest of the Red Sox), you have a very good, solid team that competes in every game and I enjoy playing you. I don't know exactly what "upper division" means, but I'm pretty sure it DOESNT mean that you have to point out how many runs you scored and allowed and who you beat on a message board.
Beat somebody in the playoffs?? What is that? I guess you think the Chiefs are nobody? They beat YOU this year and the Pirates might think differently if you ask them. What about Johnny's last year, they don't count? Tell US to beat somebody first. Who did you beat this year? Last year? Uh huh.
By the way, in two years, I've seen the same four teams in the semi's. Who's spot did we take?
ps. I was safe, Steve

| Mysteries of the universe:
Questions to ponder while the SOX sit at home during the playoffs.
So WHAT got into Johnny's?
Is it a given that it will be Gator/Cards final anymore.
Was that Vladimir Guerrero in right field with the assist in that 9 to 3 put out at first base with a would be single.
Was it me, or did Johnny's bats make like a Southwest Airline commercial. Instead of the ding, it was like PING! You are now free to move about the bases.
Finally, was that the sound of crickets or the alarm go off all game to wake up the Gators in this best of three series. We'll see. To be continued....

| So WHAT got into Johnny's? Duck's fastball if you ask TR. JD's if you ask Eric.
Is it a given that it will be Gator/Cards final anymore? When was that EVER a given? The only given is who will NOT be in the finals.
Was that Vladimir Guerrero in right field with the assist in that 9 to 3 put out at first base with a would be single? That was me gutting it out with a pulled calf, can't run, but my team needed me. I'll take the would have been 2-2 with 2 RBIs on one leg than a solo HR in the 7th (even though you did piss on it) down 4 runs.
Was it me, or did Johnny's bats make like a Southwest Airline commercial. Instead of the ding, it was like PING! You are now free to move about the bases? Nope, not just you, that's pretty much how it happened.
Finally, was that the sound of crickets or the alarm go off all game to wake up the Gators in this best of three series. We'll see. To be continued....

| What got into Johnny's, the fact that everyone finally made a game (except for Jack) might have something to do with it? Jack missing only affected the amount of beer consumed after.
The comments from the Bulls; not likely, that won't take effect till next year at the first meeting between the two.

| Gator25 puts me in my place yet again. I knew that you were playing on one leg and should have made that clear earlier. But friendly banter aside, that's why I enjoy this league. It's like a rugby match, during the games and sometimes on this forum, people / teams are just getting punched and stomped on. But after that final out, it's time to kick back and enjoy a cold one with those same guys. That's how I see it. Now, back to our regularly scheduled banter.

Is Capain your own guy firing a shot at you?
If you think getting thrown out at first was bad, you should ask Goody about hosing someone from LF a couple of years ago...Of course the piss-rod 1B to left was off of me pitching...
Also, thanks for bringing up Smitty's bomb to LF in the 7th v. the Red Sox...my neck still hurts from that one.

| It can now be revealed that we were half as good as the rest of the league. A win is a win and a lose is a lose no matter what you do to achieve the result.
Glad I only caught two arrows on this recent post or I might have been a no-show for the benefit.
Definitely going to wear the commissar hat more next year, if you will have me.

| Nobody said you were half as good as the rest of the league. That's just silly. My point is that some things are better said on the field than on the forum. You are right, you won two games against us this year and a win is a win no matter how you look at it. You were the better regular season team this year in our matchup.
If there was a vote, which there is not, I would vote for you for commissioner. I've said it before that I think you run the league as well or better than any other league we have played in. Sure, I disagree with some of the things you do, as does everyone else, but overall I think you do a very good job.
The only criticism I have of you as commissioner, and I hope you will take this as constructive criticism, is that while you are deciding how tight to wear the hat next year that you don't lose sight of what it means to be commissioner.
Nothing personal at all, but in some of the conversations I have had with you, you have taken the my way or the highway stand. It shouldnt piss you off or put you out to reschedule a game, or even work with a team about a game time or day. As commissioner, it's your job and your job only to do that.
Everybody, including you thinks that the msbl commish won't bend or work with any teams and has a hitler complex, and you weren't shy about telling me how you TRULY feel about the guy, yet then you say well if he won't do it, then I won't do it, or if he's not willing to bend, then why should I?
At that point, are you and Jerry really any different?
I just think that to be a great commish you should be a little more willing to be "inconvenienced." That or accept some help, so that you don't have to deal with as much bullsh*t by yourself.
That or we can change the name to the archie reid league, instead of fountain of youth, though you could still count the Gators in because you still have my vote. I just think that's one area that could use a little improvement.
And just remember, D, YOU supplied the power!!
