Thanks to Arch/D Scott/Matt for your work on the golf tournament. Hopefully we made some decent money - everybody had a good time. Some of the teams were well represented - some were MIA. We thought we saw a Gator near one of the lakes but it turned out to be just an old worn out piece of wood.

I like the field. during daylight. Lets see, play golf with a bunch of guys on my anniversary, or go to dinner and get the annual pity lay. Hmmmm...

I guess I could have skipped my sister's wedding. I'm sure she would have understood. I was planning to donate my entry fee anyway but now it looks like I will be too busy trying to figure out how to f*ck myself with it.

The only time I have bitched about the field is when I sat out there for hours this past offseason picking rocks out of the infield with Matt.

I hope the golf tourney was fun and productive, and I wish I could have been there.

Yeah--sadly no Bulls could make it. I'm sure it was too much fun.

Congrats to the Gators for being missed at the golf tournament. At least people are thinking about you guys now.

No Bulls where there...who knew?

The A's weren't represented out there either...Oh wait a minute they were. They knew they wouldn't be able to make it, so they sponsored a couple of holes. Which ironically would be more than your entry fee. The umpires even sponsored a hole with a little persuasion from the Cardinals.

Sister's wedding/Anniversary are good excuses, but there are more than two people on the Gator's roster.

This league has been playing at the Legion for years, and it was evident on Saturday what teams care about the survival of this league. I think the teams that weren't represented should have no say on how the fundraiser money should be spent.

Thanks for approving my excuse. Yes, we have other players on our roster, but they had other excuses too, though I'm not sure if work and another golf tourney would be good enough.

Who were the teams that weren't represented in any way?

The golf tourney was a moderate success considering the short window and limited league participation. This post is not an attempt to jab the people who did not participate or make a financial contribution, you know who you are and so do I.
I do want to recognize some of the teams and individuals who gave yeoman effort.
First the teams:
The Cardinals who had the most team entries of present and past players, wives and outside teams.
The Curleys were well represented with four teams by my count.
Johnnys had three teams.
The Red Sox had two teams with one outside teams.
The Pirates had two teams with an outside team.
Dave Henke represented the A's and Chad " Chicken" Holman represented the Gators. He also made a generous contribution financially.
A special thanks go out the following individuals who did a lot of legwork to make the event happen.
My co-chairs Matt Howard and Darin Scott with great assist from Mark Lamereaux.
Norm Thompson who organized a lot of outside players{especially the wives} and hustled a lot sponsors.
Bill Haeberle who had the original idea for the tourney and secured some nice prizes.
Big Sug and Lam and Johnny Moo who worked behind the scene to make the event a success.
The cartgirls who did the BEST with what they had to work.
Thanks to Randy Hogankamp and Dennis Gurkin who did grunt work and even took a tour as pseudo-cartgirls.
I would be remiss if I did not thank Argus for his mystery appearance and donation of the badmitton set.
We had some successes and some shortfalls from which we will learn. There were two bottom lines, we made a little money and I think everyone had a good time. Again, thanks to everyone helped in any form.

Arch - I can't take any credit (or blame) for the girls team. That was Ms. Daab and Ms. Chris that cooked that up. Becky and Jan just were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I do hear the course marshal had to tone the girls down though. Something about somebody rolling around on the tee box in an inappropriate manner.

Norm, I hope that didn't involve Johnny Moo's girl "Paris". I know she got in trouble on a couple of tee boxes.

Let me do some checking, pull some surveillance tape and see what we got. Paris on a Cardinal girl rolling around on a tee box would make some more Cardinal history.
