According the performance roster our first team doesn’t perform until 4:00pm Saturday and that’s for Sr-open level 4 (is this the Jr Adv team?) The Hip-Hop teams start at 7:26pm. Is this the Red & Black Thunder teams? If this is the case why be there at 1:00pm? On sunday again it looks like the teams start around 7:00pm.It looks like the awards are starting around 8:00pm. if we stay till the awards are over, this puts home around 2:00am Why do they have to stay??????

This is a very good question. You are correct in Jr. Adv competing Sr. Open and Black Lightning and Thunder competing in Hip-Hop.

We are asking all teams competing this weekend to arrive at 1pm on Saturday so that each athlete can receive their admittance tag. Once the coaches enter the building, it is non-stop busy - busy - busy. Coaches will not be able to stop what they are doing to meet athletes as they arrive to give them their entrance tag.

We are also asking all teams to cheer on our other teams as they perform as this is part of the competition requirement set forth by Ultimate. It wouldn't be fair if teams that performed early in the day did not stay and watch those athletes performing in the evening and vice versa. Our athletes need to support and encourage their team members as they perform. It's hard for our athletes to give their very best if no one is cheering for them.

Fortunately, for most, there is no school or work on Monday. Last weekend we had Grand Champion Winners where they received jackets. If your child is not present at awards, they will not receive what they've earned. This rule applies at every host competition.

We do appreciate your comments and thank you for your continued support on helping us to make this a wonderful experience for your child. If we can be of further assistance, please call us at the gym or speak to your team rep.

Why I understand the reason behind the athlete receiving there admittance tag in a timely manner, I don’t believe this to take 6 ½ hours. If my child performs at 7:30pm and our check in time is at 1:00pm, that 6 ½ hours that the athletes are running around from place to place without some kind of adult supervision. And if we are bringing young children to the events that are not competing, that’s more stress on the adults. Do you know how hard it’s to keep a 3 year old occupied? (Are you going to watch them?) You should look in to staggering your check-in times to reflect the performance time. (If you perform at 7:30pm you check in at 5:00pm, you practice sometime between your check-in time and your performance time)

The support of other teams is understandable; do you need all the teams to support one another? We count over 50 kids that would be around the mat. What about the team members that did individuals today? What about the teams that are not schedule to perform at this event? Do they need to drive up and spend the money just to support others? Gas is over $3.25 a gallon and hotels are not cheep.

Why is all the competition out of town? Are there no events in West Palm Beach, Stuart, area or closer?

Yes you are correct, no school Monday but this doesn’t mean that others are off. I still have to work and so do others. We won’t be home until after 3:00am if we wait until the awards are over. In the past I have seen metals be brought back to the gym and passed out there. Why can’t you get the jackets or metals and bring them to the gym?

Last week after the competition and the awards were completed, we don’t get home until midnight. My family starts getting up around 5:00am to get both ready for school and work. This makes for a very long day. At school and work, we need to perform at our best.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF COMPETITION...:)

LET'S REMEMBER THAT THIS IS ABOUT OUR ATHLETES BEING GIVEN A CHANCE TO SHINE:)
IT DOES GET A LITTLE OVERWHELMING AT TIMES WE ALL CAN ATTEST TO THAT..lol BUT AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASISE THE IMPORTANCE THAT ALL THIS PLAYS IN YOUR CHILD'S CONFIDENCE AND SELF-PRIDE.. THEY WORK VERY HARD AS WE ALL KNOW AND THIS IS A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME TO SACRIFICE .. TOGETHER AS A TEAM WE CAN DO IT AND SUCCEED. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE STAFF AT ULTIMATE FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN ORGANIZING SUCH WONDERFUL EVENTS..
