| The month of January seems to have raced by at Homestead RC Raceway. We would like to thank everyone who came out and helped make this month a lot of fun.
The Happy New Years Race is in the books, Congratulations to the winners, Art Carbonell who won the 1/10 Touring Car Class and Frank Vega won the 1/8 4WD Open Class. The race was well run and everyone had a good time.
The track is getting better and better. Everyone need to thank Johnny and the track crew for all their efforts. A lot of the bumps and dips have been removed. Now they are working on consistent traction and tolerable tire wear. The practice day on Jan. 26th shows they are heading in the right direction. Many top level racers came out. The traction built up as more laps were turned and tire wear was very tolerable. After this practice day, there were many compliments about the Homestead RC Raceway facility.
We have club races scheduled for early Feb. and Mar. You can check the Track Calendar on the website for the actual dates. We will also have Friday and Saturday free test and tune days on Feb. 8, 9. Those who need to make preparations for the Winternat's or just want to come out and practice can take advantage of the free track hospitality days.
The 2nd Annual International Grand Prix is coming up very shortly. We will be racing inside the gates of Homestead Miami Speedway very close to the main entrance. This event is off the hook. When you enter this race, you will be racing in front of thousands of spectators. You will have a special VIP entrance gate and preferred inside the gates parking. Then besides having a great time racing your car you will also have grandstand seats for all the Homestead Miami Speedway practices, qualifying and races.
