| Why? Because I'm bored. Why today? Cause it's Feb 29th and we won't have to do it every year. But in all seriousness, I frequent this forum a lot cause I love the sport, the league, and the joking between all the posters. I've noticed, however, that with the exception of a "thanks" here and there, I don't think Smitty gets enough gratitude for what he's done, specifically to this website. So everyone on here that knows him in any way, drop a post on here to say thanks to Ian for putting in the time so we can all keep in touch during the off season and rag on each other about softball long before the season's begun. And if you know Ian well enough, roast the hell out of him.
I don't know him well, played basketball against him through the coventry town system and played softball against him in this league. If it weren't for him I may have never gotten in this league in the first place. I had a falling out with my old team in my old league, and someone directed me to this site. I emailed Smitty and within hours he gave me 2 contacts, one of which being Baxter, and the rest is history. Thanks man.
So who's next? Mertog, I know you have a big man-crush on him so get a post in here. Anyone else have wannna say thanks for the site, or have a funny playing/drinking story about him, get on here too.

| Ryman I think the idea is gay. Smitty gets alot of credit as does mertog. They deserve all of it and even if they wont admit it they know that what they have done is very important to the league. Gay idea but they do deserve the thanks. Screw smitty tho he beat me in the finals last year so he can go pound sand.

| Hell, I like the Smitty Appreciation Day idea...I should do a Planet all about Smitty. (He would tear my head off though)
I'd like to see everyone who puts the work into this league be appreciated, The Baxter's, Rob Raymond, Smitty, and all the managers who keep this thing going each and every year.

third, dutilly you bitch that everyone calls you a cheater still but you won't stop crying about ridiculously old leg giving out for no reason. blaming it on me being nearby when your ancient body quit on you isn't fair.
fourth, riley thanks for your endorsement and while the sarcasm and dry humor won't stop i know you can kick my ass.
finally, lags i would love to gro the fro....but the disappearing hair on top of my head won't cooperate.

| and thanks to everyone for using the site....we made our 2008 debut on the top 100 sites list at #97. last year we peaked at #22 but we didn't get on it til may/june.
