It is hard to believe the month of February has passed so quickly, even with the extra leap day included. Homestead RC Raceway would like to thank all of those who have been attending and supporting the Raceway.
We had a very exciting February Club Race. There was a lot of drama and close racing. Congratulaions t0 A Main winner Art Carbonell and B Main winner Marco Blum!
I'm sure those of you who have been using the track recently have noticed the track improvements on the racing surface. Johnny
and the track crew have been busy as more dips and bumps have been removed. The high speed esses and the turn entering the straightaway have been massaged to make this area a much more car friendly track for all of you.
Homestead RC Raceway expects to have a good turnout for the March 2nd Club Race. The weather should be perfect and no major events are happening this weekend. We look forward to seeing you there.
Preparations for the 2nd Annual International Grand Prix, to be held on March 27-29, are moving along nicely. The surface, where the temporary track for this event will be held, is starting to come around.
Art Carbonell and Paolo Morganti went out for a tire test on this surface recently. This early test was encouraging, there was much less tire wear compared to last year. They have offered suggestions to the track crew to further improve wear and traction. We should have a very good surface to race on for this event.
We will have electric car racing at the 2nd Annual International Grand Prix this year. Homestead RC Raceway will be working closely with the electric racers to make this an enjoyable experience for all.
Please pre-enter for the International Grand Prix. Things will go so much more smoothly for you and for us when you do so. Especially if you want to have the preferred parking and specially priced generakl admission tickets. Entry forms can be found on the WWW.HomesteadRCRaceway.com web site, go to the International Grand Prix on the Main Menu for the entry form. We will also have entry forms available at the Raceway on practice and race days.
Homestead RC Raceway is pleased to announce that the ROAR Super Regionals will be held at our facility. This is a major event for us. The dates for this event will be May 17-18. This is a strictly enforced ROAR Rules event. The Super Regionals are open to ROAR members from Region 4 (our region), Region 3 and Region 6. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
