| I've been tryin to get him some recognition for a while now, but I still say Chip LaFazia from Baxter's/Patriot Oil is the best all around player in the league. I challenge anyone to find a faster runner that's also as smart on the basepaths. He's a vaccum over the the middle and I've also seen him play 2nd, 3rd, SS, and outfield all at starter levels. He could pitch if you needed, but itd be like batting practice. He can hit for average, and for power. Outfielders have to always be on their toes because he can and will take an extra base at a moments notice. He's gonna be a great manager for our team this year, and a very underrated aspect of a great player, no one I've ever seen has better sportsmanship and respect for players whether on his team or the other team. Yes there are guys that hit the ball a mile consistently, but no one brings every tool to a game like Chip.
I don't know many people by name in the league, but I'll give Smitty a close second.

| I would say Eric Weimar from Eaton. It was only his first year and he hit .685, not to mention he was hurt all year. He has a cannon for an arm and can play any position on the field. Watch out for that guy.

Its unfortunate that my 2 strong positions (1st and 3rd) are tied up by 2 top notch players in eric galloway and joe houle. So im just gonna have to go out, show my progress, and hope chip notices. Just needs to mature a little just like any of us when we were in our early 20s. My boy playa is the tops when he wants to bring his A game but that depends on many factors and if his heart is in it.

| Bunch of great choices but id have to throw GT in the mix with those guys . What i define as the best player is a guy who can dominate and beat your team from both sides of the ball. When the Dub won the ship kid had 7 double plays in two games three were unassisted thats dominating the game and he was 9 for 12 with 9 runs scored. Hasnt learned to spread the feild yet but hes only twenty three . Hard to believe hes been playing for 5 years. Big Ern Mcracken has his moments like that also , when the bats on hes one of the best no doubt he is the best OF hands down on a big feild or open feild and the best Rf against the PNA . Two years ago against the NNNAAAAAHHH totally gave them a couple cunt punts with three amazing catches . Some of these guys we are talking about dont dominate . Thats the best player the ones who wins games by himself .

| I definately see a major log jam coming up this year for the coveted playoff positions. I definately see the VFW as the team to beat, Moulton right there in a close race, PNA will round out the top three.
After that it will be a mess. I see the following teams duking it out for supremacy and will all bunch up behind the top three for positions 4 through 8. Nobody mentioned Crowe and I think they will definately be a team to be reckoned with. Bothelo's (DA CHAMPS YA'LL) don't overlook them. Team Mertog should be in the mix if all goes well, and Harris is definately someone to keep an eye on, always tough.Joques and Patriot and A+ will be in the mix as well.
I see Delpadre just falling short, along with Shamrock, Eaton, Pub, Stallyns, Coventry Fire.
Might look something like this
1 VFW 2 Moulton 3 PNA 4 Crowe 5 Harris 6 Bothelo's 7 Team Mertog 8 Patriot 9. A+ 10 Joques 11 Shamrock 12 DelPadre 13 Pub 14 Eaton 15 Stallyns 16 Central Coventry

| i went to harris not cm i think cm got alot better this year. just not enuf room already got 20 on the roster. gonna be a very interesting year. and like yup said whoever that is. i know the crowe will b alot better but that feild is gonna haunt ur dreams short lefty porch with no lefties and open feild not good. home runs turn into long fly ball outs if you know where to play a guy and ur outfeilders better beware of the drops and holes in the outfield ( played there for the first 4 years of coventry sunday morning) watch out for the benches in right center. your gonna see some monster shots hit a ton into the girls softball feild and guys possibly running under those sky balls and turning a homerun at foster into a pop up and double tag from second base just like i did to dutilly in johnston
best player (oh i mean cheater) in the league BD hahah those are the initials right or should we just call u meng for short bobby haha

| HGH way too expensive and in addition it's fucking nuts to do. It makes you grow thats for sure but then you walk around with a big bulbus Barry Bonds Head. You'll look like a living bobble head doll.
In addition it makes everything grow, bones, skull, muscles and oh yes any cancerous cells you might have.
Grab yourself some Test and D-bol and stack it with clenbuterol. You'll be a monster.

| Ernie, we are getting no respect and it's my duty to point some things out. Botehlos won last year because we were a TEAM...willing to take a walk or go opposite field...plus some flat out luck. HR's are mostly a factor of where you play and are a "look at me" category. RBI are kind of who gets on base around you. Honestly, it was my first year last year but we had no selfishness whatsoever. We are adding a great guy who plays on Team Envious at Clegg and a non exempt who played with Millers Crossing in Warwick Twilight last year. Will we repeat??? Maybe, maybe not. But I know we have added two guys that will love playing and will be assets to the league.

| It doesn't piss me off at all. Maybe we can sneak up on people again. I think we were picked to lose in every round of the playoffs and I don't blame anyone for doing so. Every team we played had better talent from top to bottom.
By the way, our asterisk player this year is Tim LaRose. He will be playing for the new team at Clegg this year. He is a decent outfielder, good arm and good speed. Has some nice pop in his bat and knocks it out of Clegg with room to spare. Tends to pop up a little more than you'd like at times. Also, competes in triathalons?!? We'll see what we can do about ending that shit. The other guy is Mike Blanchette. He played for Millers Crossing in Warwick Twilight last year. Big guy, like 6'4"-6'5", but mostly a line drive type hitter. Good first baseman. Both will be regulars on the Sunday afternoon bar scene in Coventry I would bet. I'm also hopeful that our sponsor and my new insurance guy Bob Botelho will make many more games this year. I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but pound for pound that guy hits it as hard as anyone:)

| Best Player? You guys are leaning towards best hitter..and you could choose between 12 guys or so for that...for me, its Costello and Keenan. But, really, you also have Riley, Lemme, Wright,Lesniak, Pete I, Howard, Deano, Demonti, ..plenty of hitters. Keep Wright out of the infield and you have a player. But come on...best player has to be the top player at the toughest position..short stop. Ians shortstop Turbitt catches EVERYTHING..the reason we won the championship was because of superior defense..and its the reason Ian will win again this year. That, and we low priced auto insurance. You cannot win the Championship in Coventry Sunday Softball without a top flight short stop. Turbitt is a solid hitter..but take a top level hitter and give him Turbitts glove..what do you have? GT of VFW. Or , Mike Mans, or Anthony Mans. I forget if Lesniak plays short..if he does..then he is in the running. The best player in the league convo begins with those 4 guys. Great infielders who also smack the ball. And lb4lb we all know who the best first base coach in the league is..or was.

| Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I think the best shortstop in the league for years has been Eddie Mac. I know people will disagree but I also think he is one of the premier players and team guys around also. Also little Goodwin plays a solid 2nd base and and before I left I am pretty sure he was top 3 in walks and runs. Also all the other names mentioned above I wouldn't mind playing with!! GT has always been one of my favorite players since I played with him in Atwood night with Artie.

| Bob, you crack me up. I will never live that day down but i did get some pointers from Fernandez.. When there is a guy on at first you have to play real deep or infront of the guy so he cant screen you. If you remember all 3 balls that got by me were when a runner was on first and i let them screen me.
I agree that shortstop is the hardest position on the field to play but all around players means defense and offense. If you are a top player at your position defensively then it's not your fault you were not born with a right handed throwing arm.... how do you know ianelli, destefano, or any other lefty (of course yes this includes me also) would not have had just as much skill at the infield but since they started ball were stuck in the outfield because they were left handed and quick. You are also leaving out other aspects when looking down this list. Speed, heart, hustle, desire to win, and leadership. Those are the keys to a great player not just plain offense and defense.

Eddie Mac has been underrated for years. I don't think he even cares. He just likes to drink and play ball.
Otherwise it's the usual suspects when this post comes up twice per year. Petey Playa (when he wants to), Costello, Keenan, GT, Riley. I am probably missing a couple but you get the point. You can make a valid arguement for any of these guys.
