| I was informed early Tuesday April 1 that the Monarchs will not have a team this year. This will cause a new schedule to be created. Destroy old copies. Details to follow.

| I'm guessing it wasn't an April Fools joke either? That's a shame.

| They turned down an offer to combine with the Chiefs at the end of last season. They said they had enough already. Guess not.

Pathetic.

| Talked to Archie about all this. Sucks for him having to redo the schedule especially since he has umpires already lined up for some games.
We talked about maybe playing an unbalanced schedule to keep roughly the same amount of games and that wouldnt really affect any time slots or umpire scheduling.
We could split into 2 divisions of 4 teams. Play within the division 5 times and the other division 4 times for a 31 game total and things wouldnt have to change all that much.
If we did that, we could draw teams out of a hat and make it random, which could stack one division, or we could divide it manually and make it even.
The past two years has been my team and the A's with the top two spots. Bottom spots thanks to the Chefs not returning would be the Bulls and Pirachiefs. Split them up, and then fill in with the other 4 and it would be pretty equal no matter how it goes.
Would make the playoffs easier as well, as we could just play 3 game series' to get a division champ and then play the finals.
Easier to do an all star game that way if we want and play division v. division.
Or we could just play every 4 times, but we'd lose 4 games that way.
Like Archie said, too late for a meeting to discuss this.
Opinions?

| That is a shame... I've been through it before where players will say that they will play over the winter, then when it is time to commit, they back out.
Best of luck to the guys.

| Sug,
It is okay to talk to yourself...but when you start answering yourself is when the problem surfaces...

| I want to know who is paying for our calendars with the wrong schedule on them. Keep the schedule the same, use the open times from the Monarch's for rain-out make ups, slide times together where needed.

| Another idea if any of you guys are interested.
Keep the schedule the same like Lammy said.
Use some of those open slots for independent wood bat games, and any others for makeup games. I would be happy to play any of the other teams, Red Sox, Pirates, Bulls, or Curleys in wood bat games, or Johnny's again if they want to.
Just don't count it on the standings. Umpires still get paid and we still get the games and you wouldnt have to do too much with the schedule.

| Hey Ben, Before calling the A's and Gators the top teams over the last two years, compare their combined stats to the reigning champs who also happened to have the best record in 2006.
We really only care about our calendars being messed up. Just let us know when to show up...

| I hate to follow a quality rant about WOOD BATS but here goes. Late breaking news, we have a team willing to jump into the Monarchs slot in the schedule. The schedule will not have to be changed. The new team will be called the Giants.

But, that's great news.

| Attempts will be made to secure slots where teams were scheduled to play the Monarchs. Some bookend Games on Weekends will be eliminated. We will attempt to save 10am and 3pm games to promote continuity. If you have a weeknight slot with the Monarchs you will play someone.
