| club jogues is looking to host more games at their field. hodde and company have put in a lot of hours and the conditions are improving.
basically they would like to have games at 12 oclock there so that people from the league might attend that game after they are done playing and purchase some adult beverages from the bar. club jogues is the only field you can legally drink at since it is private property. so you can have a pop and watch a game for once.
maybe a game of the week at club jogues at 1200.
now i know moving games there requires teams to give up their home field advantage.
we don't need to get into the field conditions at club jogues. we all know the club let it go and hodde and others are working to improve it. lets give them credit.
so is there any interest in this idea or any spin-off ideas for this year or the future?

| How about a post season/pre playoff all-star game and homerun derby over at the club? There are 16 teams, each team votes in 2 reps, split up the teams however. Hopefully people would show up to support the people they voted in.
The HR derby could just be open to whoever wants to participate with an entry fee of whatever. Could be winner take all, or 50/50 with the other half going to whatever.
Im just trying to think of something that'll bring more than just 2 teams and their fans to the field, and if its a success it could become an every season thing.

| Chip...no he is not suggesting that more teams be added, it is way too late for that to occur, at least this year anyway.
What the idea is...is that teams who have the 12:00pm games move to Club Joques so that people from other teams can come and watch the late game at Club Joques and be able to indulge in a few libations while watching said game. This in turn will hopefully bring in more business to Club Joques which is the only Private filed where that can be accomplished since drinking on all othe fields is illegal.
In addition Club Joques supposedly will put more money into the field if they are making money from their investment. It's a great idea actually.
Unfortunately I will have to decline from moving my team there since the only field where my wife and kids and many of the players wives and girlfriends will attend the games is at Foster Field or the Nike site, since they are the only two fields where there are bleachers for people to sit. Several of us older guys have our kids in tow and Hunter's was ideal since it had a playground for the kids to keep busy. Foster has plenty of room for the kids to horse around behind the bench where we can keep an eye on them. It becomes more of a hassle for us when we play at Washington Oak and Club Joques.
In addition I sort of built my team around playing at Foster field and I love the wide open right field side which gives us an option other than the homerun ball. Unfortunately this dissapears when you play at Club.
In addition, most people will be attending their own sponsors bars after the games which is only right since they are pumping the money into their respective teams. I doubt that people will actually go see other peoples games unless there is huge interest, such as VFW vs. Moulton or Crowe vs. Harris, the really big games. The probability is that most of the guys when finished with their game will flock to their own bars.

| Smitty, i think it is a good idea, as long as the field is in good shape, another word your not totally giving up great fields for a bad one. Perhaps , Mert and Macs game of the week. Obviously they would have to be the same and predetermined. I think it would give the teams something extra to play for, to actually be catagorized as the game of the week. A system would have to be installed so it is not the same teams each week, possibally creating different rivalries. Give teams like the firefighters and the stallions something extra to play for and more exposure. I think a private field should get a little extra attention, because it isn't backed by town taxes. Perhaps if the weeds in centerfield were cleared out it would make a nice seating area for families. I say give it a chance

| mertog the idea is to vote every week on a game of the week and make it a 1200 oclock game provided both teams agree to play at club jogues at 1200. then all the 1000 oclock games can come and watch after their games if they chose. not trying to take away from any sponsor, just trying to get the club to see we are trying to appreciate what they do for us . give a little get a little

| that is a good idea, and it generates a crowd to watch games. if joques put lights up it the game of the week could be on a friday, haha. if joques feild(wich is being improved) was better and had food, it would be the hot spot on a sunday, with horse shoes and the noon game. not every team has a bar, to go back on and we are not a bar league anymore. and maybe next year let new team or teams in. mert your a new team right

| lemme we get lights up it would be a gold mine for a night league . they put lights up for horseshoes and have leagues there every night now. they also have the best horse shoe pits in the state. cause they make money from horse shoes. we are close to making big improvements at club jogues we need to show interest in the club . then they will show interest in us

| Actually Lemme we aren't the new team...Pub is actually the new team, concessions were made to accomodate both teams.
If people like the idea and are willing to show up for the games, I think it's great...I'm not against the idea, and I'm interested to see if people actually show up for a late game. If so, terrific.

| one drawback to the league is we only get to see other teams when we play them. this idea would help but what would it take for a "game of the week" to be moved there? that title usually means there are playoff implications.

| I agree, Great idea all around. Smitty the end of the season will feature games with playoff implacations etc.
I also love the thought of a night league in Coventry, I fucking hate driving through Warwick @ 5pm
