| ok as far as closed pitching,I reminded the umps and was assured it would be taken care of.As far as the A league, coaches bear some of the blame, when team A opens up and team B does and both sides don't care why would an ump call anything to cause himself grief . I can see a three tier league in the future? With a sling devision.

| More experience than Walt? I dont think anyone has it...he has probably done a million games.
Grove hit the nail on the head...umps dont want grief so if both teams do it and nobody complains....they wont call it.
However, that is very dangerous because the end result is that somebody will be slinging in the league and when they call it illegal later...the first thing somebody will say is "I been throwing all season like this"
Rumor today is that umps were instructed to start calling it.

| That's right and that's why they should nip it in the butt now before the season is 5 weeks old. Call them illegal now and be done with it. Give them 2-3 warnings if it continues their illegal all year. Let the offense and defense come back into play.
