| For the record on the night of July 9th 2008, John "a.k.a Jake, Junior, & Pin Stripe Shorty Shorts" Hines, and Sam "a.k.a. Yo Sammitty Sam" Stilley embraced each other with a friendly wager over batting title between the two long time friends and team mates. The bet was for the final 6 games of the Mens Wednesday night league regular season.
Sam first bet John that he would end the year with a batting average of .10 points higher than John, John in the confident state of mind he was in at the time then agreed to the bet and stated that he would accept the wager and was so sure of himself that he then gave Sam a higher edge stating that he would finish with a .20 point higher batting average than Sam. The two agreed to it at this time with the following guidelines and a $25.00 bill on the line.
Batting average in the final decision would be soley based on the averages provided to the public by this website, www.southernillinoissoftball.com .
Currently Stilley posts a .579 batting average with 1 HR, 1 BB, and an OBP of .600. Sam is 11 for 19 on the year on Wednesday night Mens.
Hines currently posts a .575 batting average, he is 23 for 40 with 4 HR, 0 BB, and an OBP of .575.
Meaning that Sam has in all actuality a .24 point advantage over John.
Sam then began playing mind games and bet an additional $20.00 bill that John would not hit another home run for the entire regular mens wednesday night season. There are 6 games remaining for these quests and wagers. Sam also agreed that if John legged out an inside-the-park Homerun, then he would give John $30.00
In reminder to all that there was no adult beverages consumed to heighten this wager (lol), and that any and all comments by any responder/replier are the the views and beliefs of that person and not of the original Topic Poster.

Last Weekend........Jake "Shorty Short" Hines batted 1.000% in the NSA class B State tourney with the 180 team..........Sam "Yo Sammity Sam" Stilley, well im not sure where he was and what he did, but im guessing that he maybe was @ j.o.m. tyen one on!

| The Semi-Finals turned the tables for the contestants.
Shorty Shorts Hines slapped the rock around goin 6-9, bringing his year to date average to .586 (34-58). Though he failed to go deep once again, showing his warning track pop. Hit the weight room and not so many BUD LIGHTS!
Yo Sammity Sam Stilley had a Solid night going 3-6, with 2BB, AND a HR, bringing his year to date average to .559. Keep it up, your on base percentage is @ .595, compared to Hines's .586. To bad there wasnt a bet on the OBP!
Surveys taken emphasize that Hines will say to the hell with the average next week and go for the long ball since the finale is to be played on the bottom field, with the short porch to right & he is the lefty of the two.
Trash talking has been at a minimum b/t the sluggers, though im sure it"s gonna heat up, it better, but may not they've their game or beer drinken faces on.
Statistically and until next week, the last time Hines went deep, he was wearing those Shorty Shorts of his which he proclaims "the pope wants him to wear as birth control for he and his wife." Assuming because they cut off circulation to his testicles. Better do something to win the HR bet!!!!!!!

| ITS OFFICIAL. just got off the horn with the boss man and last nights games, though the second shortend by rain are OFFICIAL and do count. Though there was no official score keeper, Hines and Stilleys stat's were kept.
Hines ended the season goin 5-5, and topping it off with a Home Run that just cleared the right field fence.
Stilley, maybe feeling the pressure of catch up, went 2-6 on the night.
Yearly totals are Hines 39-63, .619 bat avg
Stilley 21-40, .525 average
Hines took both the bets, PROUDLY WEARING HIS SHORT PIN STRIPE SHORTS in doing so....... until next time

| It's True! Gotta back the Rookies assesment of how the wager went down. Hines came to play and really crushed his home run over the short porch in right field! Sam should get a few sponsor exemption points aded to his average, still not enought to catch the man w/the shorts!!! Please tell me that we don't have to endure those any more this season! Good job Rook keepingus posted and congrats to both players for keeping it fun!
