| Some of you may or may not know, the American Legion closed it doors due to non-payment of its financial obligations. That means we as a league entity have assumed those obligations as they pertain to our finishing this season. We have incurred expenses such as deposits to keep the power and water available. We had to pay the back water bill and deposit to restore service. There are many incremental costs you don't think about on the surface. We still have to make restitution with sewer company. There increased fuel costs because we now have to cut all the grass that surrounds the field. That takes about 10 hrs a week with the mowing system we have available. We have to purchase chalk to line the field. A bag does about three field preps. We also owe the groundskeeper upwards of 500.00 dollars. We don't have a trash disposal system in place, other than somebodys open bed p/u to haul it away. Any takers? While we are on the subject of trash there is too much being left in the dugouts. If you bring your children to the game and they have not been trained to pick-up after themselves, it is your responsibility. We can get through this situation with everyones help. I have spoken with all the mgrs about how we need to address the financial situation. If you have questions ask them.
