| I am all for the pitching changes. I personally like to over the middle guy. I think OTM position saves runs and runs are being scored at a record pace this year. Additionally, I think first base coach should be given respect, dignity and a certain reverence because the time is very close that that will be my full time on the field position. Stepping inside the lines is proving to be hazardous to my both health and the box score

| i agree this summer has gone very well but i think with the amount of usssa players in the league it would be fun to go with all usssa rules arc and fakes just for the fall so guys can see that dont play usssa can play with those rules

| lb4lb you cant be so hard on yourself, the health thing i can understand ive been playing hurt all season and need knee surgury but refuse to get it during the season, i was just looking at your stats and i think you in the 1st base coach box would be a huge hurt to your team, dont base your performance on 1 weekend i think your an outstandig player.

| If you guys seriously want to turn this into a D/E league and move away from Sunday morning rec/beer league, going all out U-trip would be a great first step.
1-1 count, safety bag at first, no OTM, etc.
Then fix the friggin' fields!

| personally i like how the summer league has gone and i think we need over the middle just to protect the pitcher a bit. me personally its hard enough to throw it over the plate never mind trying to put fakes in there

| That's why this league is no D league. It's Rec with a couple dozen D-leaguers playing in it.
Look, in the "Is VFW bad for the league?" thread, everyone argued that they were trying to elevate the level of play to attract the best players from around the state to come to Coventry, and that's great. But that's never happen until you make the full switch to U-trip rules and fix up the fields. Until the powers that be are willing to do that, keep it Rec.

| Hodde and others has anyone brought anything to parks and rec about the fields? I would be happy to present something to them if nothing has been asked of them yet or even if it has. Maybe at the next meeting everyone could discuss the field problems and make me a list in order of importance and i will see what i can get done.

| The day started at 7:30 mikey so i did get some stuff done. just sick of the bitching like little girls. The league is to competitive. i dont know about you guys but i dont have any fun losing and getting better is the only reason you do things. You dont go to work and ask the boss if you can get rid of the best salesman because he's to good and makes everyone look bad.
Just must be that coventry mentality where everyone owes you somthing and dont want to get better or compete.

| If you think what I'm saying is bitching, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe your post wasn't directed towards me, but my point is, if you truly wanna attract the best players from around the state and become a top-notch league, fully commit to it.

| how bout suggestions instead of pissing on an idea. nothing was said about attracting better players it was suggested to swich full out to utrip for the fall to get the guys to expereience it. I dont see a hidden agenda anywhere. Yes i agree the fields are not the greatest but how many other leagues can say that they have 6-10 fields available. Im willing to bet you dont get to the field early with a rake and rake your area out or help out. So to blame a conversion on the fields is pretty much a moot point.
I see a league that is growing into somthing really special with a good mix of talent and complimentary players. It is crazy to have umps from one association and rules from another. In perspective its really not fair to the umps. we want them to do a great job(wich they do) and we are handicapping them with rules and stipulations.
I dont even play utrip anywhere else but for the sake of the quality of games and umpiring i am in favor of a full out switch. From the positive feed back that there has been already this season why not switch. We still have the actual by laws for rosters as in exempt players exc. SO the only thing you are really holding onto is the arc of the pitch and maybe the home run numbers. The games will move along a little quicker in that pitchers will be able to throw strikes at a more regular pace.

| the only thing i worry bout is the fakes is this gonna turn into a circus ,people doing all kind of trick pitches , if so i say no not at all . if we go utrip all the way with no fake pitches and go 6 foot to 10 foot arc i agrre just keep all the fake shit out

| then there is no reason for u-trip umps. if we switched to u-trip we mine as well go full force. the trick pitches are there to keep the batter on his toes and it makes the game more intresting. all you old people are just scared of change!

| Not that my opinion matters i watched a u-trip tournament last year and the fakes are not that big of a deal and are not done every pitch. Who really cares if a pitcher wants to dance around out there.

| hodde if you think stealing bases would make it intresting then we should have stayed with ASA. ASA adopted the stealing rule a few years back and ISA also allows you to steal but the ball has to cross the plate before you can go. i say we give the full force u-trip with trick pitching and all the other rules a try just for the fall to see how everyone likes. that doesnt mean that we will have the same come spring time. and thanks LB4LB for the support. i say take a poll with all the otherf managers and see what that have to say. it could never hurt.

| oh yeah one more thing hodde. the pump fakes and the other trick pitching sometimes screw up the pitcher so you will most likely be seeing more balls then you will strikes.

| thats the part i dont like cause not everyone can pump fake i know i cant and rob raymond isnt playing fall ball i have seen you guys do the fakes and throw strikes fucking around in between innings. if we go full utrip ill just be throwing the ball over the plate trying different hieghts and speed thats all i could do. and that is my only problem with utrip. if everyone else wants it what can i say just voicing my opinion

| hodde if you dont want to do the pump fakes then throw a 3 foot arc with some speed on it. it will confuse the batter and hinskie cant throw between his fat legs. did you notice that when he runs it smells like beacon?
