| With 8 teams we should go 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 best 2 out of 3.I don't know if we can do it or not that's a lot of games.Being a bottom feeder our team would love to have a chance of beating a top team.Archie likes giving byes to top teams and not rewarding teams at the bottom.Which I totally understand. But maybe the top teams dont want byes. From what I've seen there's no clear cut best team. What's everybody think? Don't be scared of the lowly Pirates

| 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 best 2 out of 3 is what was agreed upon at the winter meetings. Can't change 2/3 into the season.

You didnt get the memo??

| Norm, it has been my understanding for the past several years that 13+ losses would get you free beer during the playoffs - only for it to be changed 2/3 of the way through the year - screwing the Bulls out of free beer yet again.
I mean hell, it's only me and Linck anyway - that's not really too much to ask.

| Why do you think JD hooked up with the Bulls? All that aluminum to recycle is a gold mine.
So, when do we get "official" word on the playoff format?
Evidently, it's really only 1 vote that counts.

| I'd wager that if the managers voted there would be 7 votes for 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 best 2 out of 3
and 1 vote for the other option.
The top teams don't want the huge gap of time off and the bottom teams want to have a shot at being "Giant Killers." Everyone wins.
I'm just saying...
*ducks for cover*

| My man Rick Reno suggested that you only play when your ace can make it. Terry Farrar on Sundays still burned in my mind. Have fun with that guys. Dibs on Tommy Hart next year.

| Playoffs will be 2 of 3 high-low format, so everyone relax. I find it interesting that no one remembers we had nine teams at the meeting. With eight teams vieing for three physical weeknight dates, there will be overlapping series. That being said, I will not need any arm-chair schedule advice about time slots. I have made schedule accomodations all season. I will not entertain requests during playoffs.
The regular season will end Thursday August 28. We will start playoffs Tuesday September 2. Make ups have been issued up to Sunday August 24. The remaining open dates will be reserved for games of importance first.

| Thanks Kollack and props to you guys as well. That was a great series, hard fought and well deserved by both teams.
You probably don't realize because you don't have the scorebook in front of you, but there were 7 lead changes and 5 ties in the series. For 16 innings over 2 games, I had no idea who was going to win all the way down to the last out, which was close to and possibly could have been a 2 run walk off bomb if it wasnt caught.

I vote Birds.
I wonder who is pitching. If they're bringing the Gabenator, I may re-think my vote.
Guess it doesnt matter, I don't want to play Johnnys or the Red Sox.

| We have had this conversation before, but here go again. We cannot start round two until we finish round one. Tuesday and Wednesday were reserved for game three of round one with Thursday being the rain day. I am trying to have double-headers on the weekends and not overlapping series. Also, we want to play as much day baseball as possible
That being said, we are trying to have the finals end on a weekend so the winner can enjoy their celebration. This is not a shot but I am thinking of the big picture not the selfish interest of one team.
Besides, the concession sales are better on the weekend.
