| Let's be real. I've been folowing CT flag football for about eight years and some of these posts make me laugh. First of all why is every comment about dynasties and putting all star teams together to go and play normal teams. Rhode Island teams and most other dominant teams are just that, teams, not the best players from numerous teams. Silverbacks, Ciccones, Outkast and Cannoneers are separate teams that have continually defeated CT teams for years. They travel with primarily the same roster they have in their local leagues. I DON'T LIKE IT BUT IT"S A FACT. Park City, Gators and up until recently Steelers have done the same thing. The only team that has truly gained regional respect was Gators. The answer is not to create all star teams, cause that's not what they did. All you can do is keep grinding. Obviously there is more commitment to flag football in Rhode Island and other states if CT needs to put together all star teams to compete with there normal teams. If CT only had one team then there would be no leagues. Right now CT football is fun because now there isn't a champion crowned until the games are played. It's wide open.
A quick note on dynasties: a team should run the tables for a significant period of time without having any significant hickups, ie Gators and Steelers. If you get blown out one game but win a couple tight ones that is not a dynasty, its just a good team playing good ball(and maybe a break or two). That's to be respected, but let's keep it in perspective. One more thought, quite often a win on Saturday doesn't mean a whole lot considering most teams are light on Saturday and the good ones may underestimate certain teams. You gotta beat those same teams on Sunday when it really counts.
How is CT on the rise? Steelers had there best team two years ago when they had Mike at QB, the Chargers are barely a pick up team and the Gators are nonexistent outside of Waterbury. YounGunz May be up and coming, but let's wait and see how much noise they make.
With that being said congratulations to the YoungGunz on there numerous victories, its deserved as well as earned. Good luck.

| Honesty, I think you may have misunderstood the All-star concept(as have others), but you do have some good points. The idea has grown out of a friendly match-up between the North and South divisions into the possibility of a travel team. A game between the North and South all-stars is a great way to promote interest in the game and to fuel competition among individual teams. That is probably as far as it should go. With that said, the idea of taking an All-Star team to RI, to me atleast, was again an attempt to show more players whats out there as well as give our neighbors an idea of what kind of teams we have. I suggested an 8-man tournament because it would be less serious and more FUN. Maybe that is flawed but the majority of all this is just guys BSing about football, throwing ideas out and letting them run.
On a more personal note, I challenge your characterization of the CHARGERS as "barely a pickup team". What do you base that on? We have competed in 6 tournaments (3 out-of state) since March and have done so with the same core of 14-18 guys for every event. Have we added a player or two for an event, of course, EVERY team who travels does, but the core has remained the same at every event. Should it matter if some of the players who travel(to every event) have a league team of their own? Not if you ask my guys. We all play together as the CHARGERS because we all are involved for the same reasons. 1. We love the game of Flag Football 2. We want to travel 3. We want to challenge ourselves against the best competition 4. We want to rep our league and state CT!! 5. Our league teams aren't ready, able or willing to travel(for numerous and fair reasons) 6. We all have fun playing together
If that means we are less of a team because we don't play league play together than so be it, but what will you say in another year when the same core CHARGERS are still playing around the country repping CT for you? Are we still a pickup team then?
P.S. Why don't you "pickup" a squad if you don't already have one and come see us! We would love to show you what type of team we are.

| I’m starting to hate this message board shit because it gives you a chance to hide behind the bullshit you make up in your head... remember it’s still 9 on 9, don’t go out the box and get bold. Right now ct flag football is up and coming and you feel like it’s time to bash us out of pure fear! Well I say the time is now for you to shut up and play. As for us chargers we have no problem getting in the car to play anyone and we have proven that... don’t be scared it’s just a trip to shut you the fuck up...
