| I don't consider this an "All-Star" game until a way is figured out how to get all Class A leagues participating. Why not somewhere around the 4th?

| It's a long summer with a lot of baseball, most teams like to give their guys a break around the 4th, that's probably why. Also, I think that the reason the St. Paulers are not involved is because they don't wish to be. At least that's the way it was in the '90's, back when they also held "their own state tournament."

| There were a few reasons why there was a separate tourney in 99, including dates and # of bids . That is why there are now 4 leagues. So you'd rather waste a pitcher or risk a guy getting hurt just before the tourney? My thought is "around" the 4th-there can be a break built before or after the game and it is only one night.

| It's also ironic that the St Paul leagues suddenly "didn't want to" starting in 2000, right after they opted out of the tourney. They have simply not been invited to participate yet had done so all years prior to that.

| Hey, I'm all for a 4-league All-Star game or tournament in some way. There are certainly many great ballplayers from the East Side as well. I have always gotten the idea that for some reason, the East Siders and West Siders have some sort of thing against each other. I don't know though, I've only been playing since '01.

| For some reason it was talked about being the July 12th/13th weekend, but no one ever set it up. Thanks for the invite West Side.

| I'd suggest setting it up yourself, once you guys get it going it would be a lot of fun. Talk to your commissioners, we've been doing this for years, before the St. Paul League had the "Tournament of Champions".
And you're right there was a number of teams issue back in the 90's but it was the fact that the Riverview only had two teams compared to the Park National and St. Paul Leagues each getting three. That didn't change until Tonka and Park went first and second two years in a row.
St. Paul splitting into the Skyline was never debated or objected to, you guys split and that was that no one on the west side cared at all.
Shark Attack you and I have discussed the All-Star game if you're really serious about it, it's fairly easy. I suggest a Skyline/St. Paul game to get your commissioners feet wet, but for the most part we (the teams) put together the team the commissioners do the admin work. We are willing to work with you guys and have volunteered to do so. As you said the ball starts rolling nobody ever really picks it up.
We're not gonna organize it for you, but we will assist. Just an FYI the money earned all goes to the State Tournament, two games (rotating who plays who) would be beneficial for all. The Tuesday before the tourney starts has worked for us, it's not ideal, but it works.

| I'd also like to point out that, since 10 of the past 11 state champions have come from the Riverview or Park National, there doesn't seem to be any effects from "wasting a pitcher" right before the tournament.

| Glynn Building Products was a St. Paul team and Stockmen's has finished second in the time frame.
Just a comment.

| And that doesn't include Commanding Edge finishing second last year and Stillwater finishing third.
