I arrived home for work to sit down to a lovely piece of Halibut that the wife have prepared for me. “I said to the wife: “This piece of Halibut is fit for Jehovah”, when suddenly my cell phone beeped…indicating that there was some sort of message for me. “That’s very strange”, I thought to myself, “Who could it possibly be?” I checked my cell phone and nearly got a full-on erection when I found that the caller was in fact, Ernie “I may be wrong but I may be” Wright. Ernie actually invited me to go and hit with him today. BP with Big Ern? I’m not worthy…I’m not worthy. I immediately put the dinner in the fridge and sped as fast as I could to Foster field so that I could carry Ernie’s bat bag to the field and perhaps pick up some valuable hitting tips from the master of smash himself. To my great dismay Ernie was already there and I wouldn’t get the opportunity to carry his bag to the field. However I was thrilled to see that Ernie had brought Bob “I’ll cheat you blind” Dutilly, Jeff Considine and Neil Lesniak….now I was truly harder than a diamond in an ice storm. Considine, Dutilly, Lesniak and Wright all gathered together at the same time? What could be better than this I thought?
I took my place on the mound and was blessed to see Jeff Considine blast monster bombs one after another into the sunny sky and over the left field fence at Foster. Wow…this kid can really hit the shit out of the ball. Next I was treated to the home run stylings of Bob Dutilly who punished the air and you could literally hear it tear as he smashed the cover off ball after ball.
Next came this year’s home run king Neil Lesniak who put on a display of power hitting that I could barely believe. I was completely in awe of his awesomeness. Neil is a young god who absolutely destroyed any ball that had the audacity to cross the plate. I was in complete Ryman heaven!
Next came the amazing Ernie Wright who hit bombs that literally pierced the sky, and the alabaster orbs turned a bright orange from the heat coming off them as they punched holes in the sky. Now I know that it doesn’t rain in Coventry but rather the sky cries from the punishment it takes from Big Ern’s power bombs. You are my god…you are my god I cried out in ecstasy!
Unfortunately I would have to follow all these guys, and I knew I would be embarrassed after the hitting display that I had just witnessed, however under the master tutelage of Ernie Wright I was able to hit a few bombs of my own. I thought to myself, maybe if I hit two or three times a week with these guys, I might actually be able to successfully win the homerun derby in Coventry and be the next legend.
Then I went home and tugged one out thinking of all the amazing hitting I saw today. Well that’s all I have today fella’s I will keep posting my progress as it occurs.
Oh by the way….I have officially changed my name from Mert to MarkMan!
The only thing missing was a Young Mr. Smith today, and why????? I will let this video sum it up for you!

See, Mert. Isn't it fun to go out and hit with a bunch of great hitters. I want to go next time. Jeff and Ernie should have my number and my email address is on a bunch of posts.

my bad i left you off this one considering you said no to me the last 20 times i asked. I wont do it again though. Ryman i dont care if you come hit but if you speak one word of kirby i swear you will be in a shallow grave in the woods almost as far back as Neil and Jeff hit their homeruns. Post you number.

Ernie, I only talk about him on the forums and its just to get a rise out of people. I talked about him when I hit with lb4lb, but that's because Bob was asking about him. Give me a call Ern
