just heard that there was a vote and no one is playing this weekend, which is fine but its very funny how pna or vfw cant play because 2 or 3 guys are gonna be missing and everyone understands there dilema and votes not to play. but harris has 3/4 of our team goin away to florida for worlds the next weekend and CERTAIN teams/ the league will not accomidate.... why not ????? its really beyond me, seems to b every single year some team has some kind of circumstance that arises where they arent able to feild a team and the league grants them a chance to reschedule BUT of course not this year.... busch way to go about it if u ask me. just cuz artie and eddie martin b*tch doesnt mean you have to listen.

Just putting my two cents in so whoever you are mac dont go off on me. I've played softball a loooong time! (too long) Never have i been in a league that would even dream of playing on a 3 day weekend never mind playoffs. The problem is is that this leagues season unfortunately goes too long and brings this holiday and the worlds into play.

Mac, was that a Budweiser post? A Fisky special? or was that the insane ramblings of a man seeing red? I was upset with the way it went down to a degree too. I have no work this coming weekend and apparently the fact that I would be fresh and like to play does not matter to my coach either. He voted without even asking me how i felt. So I understand how you feel, but I think that unless we are at these meetings we probably shouldn't jump to conclusions.
PS - I agree eddie is an angry little dwarf that could use growing 2 inches and Broz has been playing a looooong time.... so long that he used to use the same club he whacked his girlfriends with to hit the rock they used in place of the eventual softball.

just want to say yes there was a vote for playing labor day, and yes it went the opposite way. but when i brought the topic about us going to FL, some ppl didnt respond and Artie was going against me no matter what which i expected. and eddy you did keep saying how are we going to do that its impossible when i brought up canceling another week. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see who wins there games then have a vote on whether or not we play the following week. Hopefully everyone will realize the situation thats still in the playoffs, and help us out. if we're not in it wont matter, if we're still in then hopefully who ever we play wont make us forfeit to them.

Mac you're a beast. I agree with you. We should be playing this weekend. This is why you have an option of having 21 on your roster. If guys have plans or family vacations then you should still be able to field a team. I voted to play because the season has been already dragged out but not all the playoff teams saw it that way. So let's drag it out so more. At this rate the championship will be played in December and fall ball will be around February.

hey mac, i was at the meeting, i got pissed when i heard all the whining about playing on a holiday, doesnt make any fucking sense to me, we have played on labor day before, last three years if im not mistaken, plus we played fourth of july last two years. people need to get it thru their fat fuckin heads that we had three pointless rainouts in which we shouldve played and now we are gonna take another week off. looks like we will be playing snow ball instead of fall ball. and mac you know artie wasnt gonna accomodate harris in any way shape or form, probably even would love to see you guys have to forfeit. i almost was drunk enough to eat a hotdog off the back of his neck last nite too. i also think that mac and the lord of the rings stunt double gimly should have a cage match.

Aug 31st missing five guys including myself im in a wedding at 12 noon in Newport .In a wedding not attending a wedding , all you guys showed the displeasure with my absence in the playoffs last year . And from what i hear Duttillys wife is gonna pop anyday so possibly missing 6 .

Dionne making sense. Demonti making sense. Now you know there was a mistake somewhere. My opinion we shouldnt accomodate a team because 3 guys are missing. Most of the teams can handle missing a guy or two..thats why they made the playoffs to begin with. BUT, once we accomodate one we should try to accomodate all. In any event, whats done is done and we have to move forward. LB4LB will miss the entire playoffs now because of vacation..and that has got to damage the chances of Botelho Insurance winning the championship!! Who is going to pitch BP to D-Train and coach first? I will be checking in ..SMACK is going to Europe. I still pick the Crowebillys.

Keeping with the Botelho tradition of picking other teams to win the championship I am going to go with VFW. I think the scheduling shifts will be too much for the drunks on our team to handle and half will show up on Sunday and assume that we already lost and not show up again until next year.

No one is saying anything about not playing labor day thats fine....some teams had people on vacation and couldnt play and it turned out in those teams favors with the accomodations...now im just asking the same favor if we make it to that part of the playoffs. I have guys on vacation and instead of ruining it and making everyone come back early could the same accomodations be made...and some teams didnt like the idea that i brought this up. just like ppl were saying about this weekend if we didnt have any rainouts then we wouldnt have played on this weekend anyways...well same goes with this situation if it wasnt for the rain outs the season would have been over already..so we did plan accordingly. well like i said before we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

fact is this.... i dont mind we arent playing this week. it came to a vote and accomidated certain teams that will not have enough players. fair enough. if we beat moulton hopefully the accomidation will be extended to our team as well. and i dont see why i have to cut my vacation that im paying for short, that seems a bit extreme. thatd b like you paying for the tux, the meal, and the wedding gift and deciding not to wear the tux and leave b4 there even married.

Mac the point im making is we would have played this weekend if the coin flipped that way .We would have found a way to get ten guys to the field and play with what we had , like we have the past to finals .whether the tournament is in FL or CT doesnt make a difference . i just checked the farmers almanac... says coventry sunday morning semi finals will be postponed due to rain showers, thunderstorms and possible floods.... and if that doesnt work the great river rat god (master splinter) demonski, demione, dionski, elmo whatever hes being called these days will whip up a whirl wind and send the cleanest river onto every coventry feild and we will have no other option to post pone and find new fields cuz the water will burn right thru the green grass or brown grass in which we mainly play on haha

next yr season should start 2 weeks earlier and any rainouts should be made up during regular season meaning play 4 this way the season ends weeks before anyone travels and fall ball starts on time if anyone has a problem with this i will be at ernie wrights house with craig at 9 pm tonite (ernie leaves for work at 8)

i cant believe all this shit we had all top 8 teams vote and before vote said if it was a tie it would go to coin flip, which it did whats up with all the bitching we all play for coventry mens softball ,not all of the state softball, or world softball ,please are you kidding me . i know we have a lot of great players in this league but it is still coventry mens softball. and we have a schedule which you guys are bitching if we should of called games off cause of rain or not that is a tough call umpires need to know at least an hour ahead of time. one week we didnt call the games and it poured right thru till 1100 oclock ,them umpires all got paid .next time league didnt take the chance and ther all assholes for calling the games and not taking the chance again . that was a fair vote and so was diciding wether to play or not when rain was around hindsight is beautiful
