The HPI will get you started at a very affordable price. Understand that you will want to change from rubber to foam tires, and that the engine will not be as powerful as what the faster guys are using. Then in a very short time you will want to upgrade to something that is much more competitive.

What may be a better solution is to go to the track and scoop out what the racers are using. You can usually find someone who has a used car and engine package for sale that will be priced very good. This would get you started with a competitive high end race car with the right engine package right from the start.

Next weekend on the 13th and 14th there will be a big race where you can see and talk to a lot of the racers about getting started with a good tace package.

glad to see that you want to get in the sport. how has your quest to start gone? are your still looking for a car to start off with? if so i have one that i built for the track but have not had time to get out there. i hate to see it just sitting there not being used. it is a kyosho v one RRR kit. i put everything top of the line so i could be able to hang woth the fast guys. email me for more info if you are interested and still looking for a car.
thank you and hope all goes well for you
