| but I think the OAA will produce some of the best teams in the state ...again. Adams, Clarkston, Lake Orion, Troy, Southfield snd perhaps another surprise or 2.
If you look at the elite teams from the east you have Adams, Delasalle, Midland, Romeo, Adrian , Fordson, BBR, Clarkston, and Lake Orion.
If you look at the this group of teams what conference has the most teams in that grouping..Yep that would be the OAA.
Troy should be in there!
By the end of the season we may be best conference in the state other than the Ottawa Kent Conference. That says alot for the type of football we play.

| I'm not sure we'll be having the best conference in the state conversation at the end of the year, but it nice to think so now! There are without a doubt quality teams in the conference, as there always is.
I think the MAC has a couple teams (Romeo, Stevenson, C.V. Dakota) who are very capable of beating just about any OAA team, and vice versa, with the exception of Adams. To me no one on the east side beats Adams.
Very interested to see how Southfield plays them though.
Troy may not be included in that list, they are looking at backing into the playoffs at 6-3 maybe even missing them at 5-4
Lots of good games left. Enjoy them while its still football season!

| Hey Geralldd,
Thanks for your response. You analysis is more realistic. I was very optomistic in my prediction.
Reason for my optomism is that alot of conferences appear to be weak this year with the only standouts being the Ottawa Kent and the OAA conferences (at this stage) based on Searns state rankings.
Lets take a closer look:
Adams is on another planet. Loaded with talent and returning players on offense and defense. They are a true state power. The only problem is they can't seem to keep their 1st string in for more than 2 qtrs. If they did scores could exceed 70+ pts a game (easily)!1st string needs play time. Up side is backups are getting play time. This team will finish in the top 5 by season end and even a number 1 ranking is possible.
Clarkston will probably win the Oaa Red. Their only loss to a great Adams team and a close contest it was. Clarkston should continue to move up in state rankings as the OK red teams bump each other off. So a top 10 ranking at season end is not out of the question.
Southfield has already beat Harrison. If they remain consistent only Adams and Troy stand in their way. They should finish 8-1 or 7-2 and they will finish in the top 20 state wide based on their strength of schedule.
Troy has Lk Orion and Soutfield left to play and they will probably win 1 of these games. So the finish 7-2. Will finis in the top 20 in the state based on strenth of schedule.
Lk Orion is a young team that matures with each game. A close loss to state ranked Rockford opened some eyes but have Troy, Adams, and Clarkston left to play. They played a brutal schedule this year. If they can win one of those they will go 6-3 and will make the paly offs and maybey even be ranked in the to 20 teams based on strength of schedule.
Watching Harrison, Groves and West Bloomfield for possible surprise.
Anyway thats my take. What say u???

| I would say the winner of the Clarkston/L.O. game wins the Red, and they'll probably get matched up in the same district as it seems they always do.
I think a lot of people are giving Troy way too much credit based on last year. I dont think they beat L.O. Troy lost to Oak Park last year, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this year. I dont think they beat Southfield, and Lathrup will be looking to avenge last years playoff loss. I'm still looking at 6-3 at best probably 5-4.
I still think WB may find a way to win one they arent "supposed" to, maybe beat Troy?
I agree with Southfield, Very interested to see them play Adams as a better barometer to where they really are.
Lots of football with some very good teams. We'll see as the weeks go on.
