Author TOPIC: Seaholm over WB?

Prepseer picked Seaholm to beat WB this weekend and keep the Lakers out of the playoffs. I don't see Seaholm's new Power I offense or the old spread offense being effective enough to outscore WB's offense.

I like Seaholm 17-16. Seaholm has had a tough year, but they still have the horses on D.

I have not seen WB play ... but judging on their close games against Lk Orion, Clarkston and Troy I would give them the edge over Seaholm.

The Maples are rejuvenated offensively but are they ready to handle Ryan Christensen and the Laker Express?

Final Score 28-20

Winner ?

Let us not forget, it is at the Morgue.

Either way... play hard boys!

This is where it gets very interesting. Seaholm is playing to be spoiler and pride. They will want to end their season feeling like the did something. WB on the other hand has two winnable games remaining. Can they keep their focus? On paper, WB should win out. However, this is HS football any ANYTHING can happen.

remember the old saying "speed kills"

what is to be seen is if WB's speed kills Seaholm or themselves

Before the season started Oak Park coach Hopkins was in here telling us all that "speed kills" and his team was loaded with speed.

The 2 fastest teams in the OAA are Pontiac Central (0-7) and Oak Park (2-5), so now what?

I feel vindicated! Prepseer now predicts WB into the D1 playoffs which they are unlikely to earn without winning the next two games.

For those who predict a Seaholm victory, help me understand why you think a team that has been crushed by almost everyone in the White is going to beat a team that has played even with the best of the Red.

Obviously, anything can happen, they put their pants on one leg at a time, and that's why they play the game, but my prediction of a WB victory is based on what's happened so far this season.

Don't worry wonk, WB is the clear favorite. Not only will they make the playoffs, they're a team nobody wants to play in RD1. They are talented and play very aggressive. WB has too much to gain. But don't underestimate the power of spoiler. I think seaholm plays very hard. Wouldn't look good if D1 commits are laying down. Pride is on the line. I think it will be close.

OAA Scouts, Is Maple Field now called the Morgue?
By the way, if this game is close look for it to come down to 2 great kickers- Ryan Miner and Rami Yousif

well, wasn't too great of a game, and my prediction about the kicjing was wrong too. Neither kicker looked impressive. Look for a big win next week Seaholm over Groves!

You do have to give some credit to Yousif, however. The first kickoff of the game, a pooch kick by yousif, was recovered by the Lakers and led to their first score.

Yeah, that was a good way to open the game for WB, but it was funny when the snap went over his head on that punt and he got decked trying to pick it up!
