you can name all you want but there is only one. Farmington's coach. 0-9 last year, 0-3 to start this year, finish in the playoffs with using mostly underclassman. This is a great coaching job!

Farmington's coach- no. Has assistant coaches that go after numerous other coaches in this league. in my opinion, if farmington makes the playoffs, they get blown out by 40. they had 3 tough games this year, all three in which they lost. get my drift guys?

You it's a joke, everybody seems to be Creek or Rochester fan's. No ones no good unless your Creek or Rochester. It's always an excuse, if we play our game we can play with anyone. If we had a line we could be a winner, I have never heard so many cry babies in my life. Give some people credit, show some class. I'm not even a Farmington fan and I can see they have had a good year, they start 8 sophmore's on O and 7 on D. When's the last time that has been done in the OAA. All I hear is let's promote the OAA and when someone doe's something that stands out in the league it's sour grapes because there not Creek or Rochester. What a joke!

I would support OAAScouts recommendation for Coach Thomas at WB. I know I may be considered biased being from WB but Coach Thomas has done a great job in turning around a Program that was 2-7 two years ago to one that has a great opportunity of reaching the pay-offs on Friday. Incidentallt this will be only the second time in the schools history that it has been to the play-offs, assuming they win on Friday.

I am not taking anything away from the coach at Lake Orion who runs a consistently good program but feel that Coach Thomas has done more to change a Program this year.

TIM CONLRY OF SOUTHFIELD ALSO SHOULD BE CONSIDERED COACH OF YEAR

Tim Conley from Southfield as well. Five teams on a nine game schedule of teams that made the playoffs last year. Could very well end up defeating 4 of 5 of them with a 2 pt. loss to the other. I think that's significant.

Connely from sfield has to get consideration. He has done a very good job this year. Thomas from WB has done a nice job this year, but what I find troubling is that WB usually has successful freshman and JV teams and the varsity has struggled in the past. Wonder why?

Who do you guys think has done the poorest job this year?

A few that come to mind: Hopkins, Fehr(seaholm). They both have better talent than their records.

upandover, I think it's best to stay on a positive topic (coach of the year) rather than stir up negative emotions on who the 'bad' coaches are. We all want to be fans of a winning team, but that doesn't always happen, and there are a multitude of reasons why a team doesn't succeed - a lot rides on the coach, but also the melding of sometimes 50+ players as one team. There have been some pretty heated posts on this forum and they seemed to have always started with a negative comment about a coach, team, player, or biased calls by a ref. Let's stay with who deserves to be Coach of the Year and then move on to something like what players would make up a Dream Team.

upanover - I agree with your comment about the WB JV and Freshman results not moving forward as you would expect into Varsity. However I hope this is now a thing of the past.

Coach Thomas inherited a 2-7 Varsity team with poor discipline and low morale. He turned this into a 5-4 team in the first year, and this year has a well disciplined group of players playing for each other as a team. He has brought respect back in to the team, players and program in only his second year.

And, by the way, JV are still 8-0!

Thomas has surely turned this program around. I forgot about him only in his third year. Inherited is a good term. Discipline is a huge part of this game, especially HS.

Wish I knew the team coaches by name but whoever are the coaches of:

Farmington
Avondale
Lahser
Southfield
W. Bloomfield

Should be recognized for "Most Improved" or some similar category.

The coaches of:

Adams
Lk Orion
B Lahser

Should be recognized for winning their repective divisions in th OAA.

I will hold my vote on "Coach of the Year" until the playoffs r over. A state Championship would get my attention in a big way.

upandover - I didn't explain myself properly. This is Coach Thomas'2nd year at WB. They were 2-7 the year before he took over, 5-4 at the end of his first season last year and are now at 5-3 with Oak Park to go on Friday.

I sure am hoping to see the OAA get a 5-4 team in the playoffs. It looks as if the winner of RSC/FHH will have the best shot. Good luck boys and GO OAA!

Clarkston's game won't matter for Lathrup... if SL can defeat Southfield and Harrison loses to the Creek I expect Lathrup will have enough POP points to be the top 5-4 OAA team.

four red teams in the playoffs. Great job teams.
