| Cuntsidine for secretary !
In all seriousness, Jeff would be a good candidate for any position of responsibility. I have only recently become friendly with Jeff, but I can tell Jeff is honest and trustworthy.
Not like that fixodent using, cheating bastard Dutily.

| Craig's a great candidate except for the fact that he will either need no-doze or crack to keep himself up that late. The kid goes to bed when the street lights come on.

| Mertog- when was the last time you saw Considine's rack? I doubt you have him beat in terms of hooter mass. You should have seen him polishing off the wings at the Sandy Bottom Sunday. I predict that he will be fatter than me by the first pitch of 2009.

| In all seriousness, all of the people that were nominated have my full endorsement. Ian is already elected my only question is why...if he is already performing the lion's share of the work is he not able to assume the title till January?
Consadine I don't know very well, but what I do know about him I am impressed with. He seems very honest and sincere and I know his opinions on many of the issues.
Kevin Dolan is a great guy, known him a long time and he is the perfect guy for the job.
Craig Riley is also a great candidate and though he wasn't nominated I think that we can use him in some capacity.
Listen, the president/vice president has the ability to form committees and sub commitees and panels to work on pending issues...such as rules committee, finance committee etc. Why not use guys like Riley for things like that. Groom other guys to learn the jobs so that we can make smooth transitions in the future in case tragedies like this occur again or if we just decide to switch people for whatever reason.
Why not assign people to familiarize themselves with things such as the by-laws, study them and come up with amendments to make them work better and take into consideration unseen scenarios such as the ones that have been arising as of late. How about a committee to learn Roberts Rules and pass them along to the others?

| agree with Mert...a little more delegation..more guys involved in running the league...Ian/Considine/Riley is a little cozy..need some disenting voices in there and Dolan would provide that....time out...need to work for a moment

| I had mention your name several times Mr. Botelho and was told you were not interested at this time, that is unfortunate because you would have been one of my choices for a position as well. Would you be interested in sitting in on a committee?
Also, there seems to be a misconception as to how much money we can save and most are under the impression all the money has to be spent. I know that several non-profit organizations actually retain millions of dollars and this is a question that needs to be researched intensively. Why not assign a panel for researching NPO's (non profit organizations) and getting a definitive answer to that question.
Why not form another panel for a rule committee to work the by-laws this off season in addition to studying Roberts Rules of Order and structuring our meetings a little better.
Also there are many grey areas such as elected officials not taking over until January...when they are elected in August. Though this is not specified in our by-laws and Roberts Rules refer you back to the by-laws. Now the only scenario I can come up with is that in such cases where there is no rule or by-law, past practice shall take prevail. But as I stated before what is the past practice. This is something that needs to be addressed.
Also, it was mentioned last night that if an exempt player wishes to leave his team and go to another team before fullfilling his 3 year obligation to his team what happens. The answer is that said player must fullfill his obligation to the team and if he decides to leave he cannot play in the league. If he decides to return he must return to that team and finish his obligation.
However what has not been given consideration is when the situation occurs that the manager no longer wants that player...now what? Can that player go to another team? There is nothing to say that a manager has to keep that player.
This needs to be hammered out by a rule commitee as well.
So you can see there are many pending issues that we just keep saying...not tonight, lets wait till next meeting...but the next meeting never comes. We just keep putting things off until they blow up in our face.
Lets be more productive at the meetings and lets get more people involved.

| me ryno and mert just formed a special committe ..Committee to Research Explore Employ Proposals ( CREEP ) for the league and will report to the officers and managers at a later date. Lets include Stevens..I swear he is a smart dude with excellent connections..I believe RIC has a library, and EW . I will begin research on the non-profit money thing . I have always felt that the league is in a good position now to actually raise money...esp with this web site that Ian has created. So, I will start there. MERT..call Ryno..we will work around his availability.

| I nominate lb4lb for anything he wants. We played him sunday and he hit one laser off the center field fence, next ab hit a laser to dead center that rolled to the school and next ab hit a super nova like laser into the trees in left field..what is that, like 320 feet? Most efficient swing in the league...has to be. Tender..out

| The biggest complaint about are meetings is the amount of time we spend there , and the lack of things accomplished .I'm not gonna write a six page essay but here is my 2 cents .
Mert if we followed Roberts rules to a tee we would have 4 hour meetings . All coaches should send a rep to every meeting . I missed one meeting all year . I do think meetings should be once a month unless something comes up . Less is more .
Bob the league taking in a $5000 to $6000 profit is totally screwed up. Since i have been in the league the players fee has gone up 400%. I agree we should collect more money than we need to run the league but no more than $1000 to $2000 . Enough in case of a death or a important need . We shouldnt be fundraising for non profits by juicing are player fees.
I think the guys who were nominated are great canidates and if your coach wasnt at the meeting of well . i do wish RR would stay on in some form . One thing i will say that everyone else is dancing around is Baxter. I agree we should keep him around as a the president but the VP , Sec ,Tres should assume all responsibilty . Let Bax stay but lets make things as easy as possible. for him and us.
I will volounteer to be one of Botelhos CREEPs

| Actually Artie, The Robert's Rules speed things up. All my union meetings use them and they cruise right through. Everyone knows what they are supposed to do, and they do it and it gets done quickly.
THe problem is we don't do it right. You have to have some sort of structure, for many reaons.

| ..I want to raise money through advertising to Diminish or even eliminate player fees and then who knows what we could do with money raised beyond that. CREEP , of course, would help determine proper use of the money. Insurance, double bags etc are things that have come up before. and artie..EVERYTHING is up 400%..expect , auto insurance at Botelho Insurance. Special thanks to newest league member client OAWMF

| Mert i didnt even read the roberts rules i'll take your word for it but at most we have 20 people at the meeting alot different than a union meeting .If the VP , Sec ,Tres assume all responsibilty the meetings will go much faster. Also it would help having a rep from every team so we can vote when we want too.
