| I'll release the '08 version, as determined by 23 of the 25 OAA Head Coaches, later today.
I'm still holding out hope for 25/25.

| For the second year in a row, this the All OAA team is really an All OAA "Skill Position" team. In the last two years the team has gone four and five deep at QB and other skill positions, yet we have a first team and one second teamer for the O line the last two years.
Hey, I'm thankful that you go through this process, but you've got to do something to get more recognition for the O and D lines. Either your process has to change or you've got to make the coaches work harder to identify the top kids on the line.
Where would Lake Orion be without their excellent O line?

| Great job OAAscouts. Is this the same All-league list that came out of the league meeting last week?

| Not sure Hawk, I haven't seen it.... this information comes from the Head Coach himself. It's tough to tell him who to vote for.

| Wonk... I was disappointed that Lake Orion nominated only 1 OL out of it's 9 choices on the Red. They did load up on DBs.

| 1standgoal I agree the Southfield QB was the 2nd best QB I saw this year in the OAA White after Waszak.

| Eddie Beal... yes, I agree fellas.
Coach Conley chose to give some credit to his linemen and defense. Props to him for it.

| I disagree... Beal missed 2.5 games with injury and the 2nd team QB Andrew Love is quite capable, believe me.

Also, the Jays used multiple QB's in more than one game, no?

| After watching the QBs from WB, LO, Clarkston, OP, Athens, RO, Roch and Lathrup, Beal showed the most poise, control and strength of arm than all of them. Not suggesting he's 1st string, but he is surely the straw that stirs the drink for southfields O. Granted, he has more talent to work with than those other teams, but he is a joy to watch. Nice job Blue Jays. Good luck the rest of the way!

| Beal is a good QB, no one is saying anthing against that. But he has more talent around him than maybe even Adams. Great running backs, strong D, good Wide outs, to be honest if they had any of the 3 rated above him on Southfield they would be better. There running backs and D stir that drink! Adams beat them because they had a better QB.

| What are you measuring it against? Bradley had nowhere the team, and Craven 5 recievers that were soph. and his backfield had 2 soph. and 1 junior. And lost 16 games in a row and made the playoffs. Both have better arms and I know Craven is faster.

| It's hard to compare the two because their playing style and team systems are absolute opposites... not to mention, one is a senior and the other is in 10th grade.
This topic is a mute one, as nobody in this forum has any factual knowledge of why Coach Conley chose not to include his QB among the All OAA selections. We simply don't know why.
In my opinion, Beal would have fit in nicely as the White 2nd team QB, but it's not the case.

| I don't know how the voting system works, could you shed some light on how and what is voted on by the coach's? Did Southfields Coach not voting for his own player have that much of an impact as to him being 4th and not 2nd? I just want to say the OAA has including all 3 leagues many good young QB's, there is no shame because in all reality it is really hard because there are so many good ones.

| OAA...I'm not familiar with the voting either. Do the kids get multiple votes from the other team's coaches? (i.e. John Doe received 20 votes, therefore he's chosen for first team, whereas Joe Schmoe got only 3 votes so he's on the third team) Or is it only from the head coach at each school? Thanks for your insight!

| I email the Head Coaches and kindly ask for their contributions using parameters they are familiar with.
1st place team gets 9 players 2nd = 8 players 3rd = 7 players 4th = 6 players etc.
I did screw up and forget to ask them to vote for Coach of the Year so I'm trying to get the vote from the Coaches meeting last week. Which, by the way, looks just like the All OAA Online Team.

By the way, I just wanted to let you (and anybody else) know that since he was left off the team, I added Beal to the White Team in the past day or two. He won't go above any of the coaches picks but he needs to be there. Call it an honorable mention.

| When I divide the positions and teams, each player is assigned a number depending on where his team finished in it's respective division (1st=9,2nd=8,3rd=7,4th=6,etc.).
This helps me to place the lineman and defenders but I rely on regular season stats for the skill players. Fortunately, many of the coaches sent stat updates with their selections.

| thank scout for your explanation of the process. I also don't know why the coach at southfield didn't nominate his qb unless because of the limitation of numbers he picked some deserving linemen. does anyone know how the all league team chosen by the coaches at their meeting turned out it would be interesting to see their qb picks.
