| How about a league hold'em tournament to raise money to help off-set the cost of a greens keeper. If every team was responsible for 15 players @ $40.00 a head we could net about $1800.00. Not to mention any monies made from 50-50 and possible auctions. Just a thought

| I'll say it since nobody else will. How about a fundraiser to pay last year's greenskeeper?

| If you hold the card game in Illinois, you need to make sure you have the proper licenses. I am not sure about Missouri

| I'm all for a league fundrasiser but I'm not into poker. I'd say add the groundskeeping into the league fees, and make each team responsible for the same amount, whether they participate in the fundrasier or not. That way people who don't participate (me) still chip in.
Ben, what's the story on last year? Does Archie dispute that we still owe you, or is there just no money?

| I was thinking about possible fundraisers this morning. I don't golf or play poker, I play baseball. How about an all St. Louis baseball tournament over Memorial Day weekend? The MSBL isn't having their Memorial Day tournament this year, so we invite those teams to Cahokia, plus our own teams, NABA, whoever. An 8 team double elimination tournament takes 14 or 15 games so it could be completed in one weekend on one field, if you start Friday night. At $100 per game for umpires, the cost would be $1400 - $1500. BYOB (baseballs). Set the cost per team at $350 and you get $1300-1400 profit. The concession stand ought to do well too. Anyone like it / hate it?

| Longhorns would likely play in it.
FYI, be prepared to deal with weather issues. The rain has wreaked havoc on the MSBL tourny as alot of you know. Teams expect credits or money back if rained out. Great idea though! Keep us up to date Tommy.

| Always seems to rain that weekend. Refunds shouldn't be a problem because all of the expenses are for umpires, and we wouldn't have to pay anything except maybe showup fees in case of rainout. I think we could get 8 teams pretty easily, but we'll need the Commish to get behind this for it to go anywhere.

| If every player in the league donated $10, we can raise $1000 the first weekend of the season. Nevermind, that would be too easy.

| I like Sug's idea. How about everyone pay $10.0 on the first of every month (May-August). That's $4000.00 according to Jamie's figures. Sounds easy to me.

| Seriously? Isn't the point of fundraising to raise money so players don't have to pay?
You really think it's that easy to just collect ten bucks from every player at the first of the month?
If you're going to do it at the beginning of the season, it's less fundraising and more player fee.
C'mon Johnnys. You guys can do better than that.

| You're right Ben.
Try this fundraiser. After the first game of the season, we could pay $20 each and everyone could get 5 beers. Then we could tell stories about how good we used to be. The league would get the left over money which could be over $1000.
Seriously, though, teams need to be responsible for raising funds, not the league.
