The GCFFA is currently putting together our 2009 schedule of leagues and tournaments. Like last year we will be holding both a Spring and Fall league as well as 3 Major tournaments! As we move forward into 2009 we will continue to grow and provide teams with the best flag football experience CT has to offer. In order to do so, we will be having a series of meetings to allow teams and players an open forum to discuss their wants and expectations for the upcoming year.

If your team is interested in competing in our Spring league or "Sprig Kickoff Classic III", please contact us at your earliest convenience.

The costs for the spring season have not yet been finalized. As we have a better idea of how many teams are serious (we have been contacted by over 20 teams) and how many fields we will need, we could have a better idea.

Expect things to be very similar to last years price and be in the $550-$600 range.

Again, you will find that we are inline or cheaper(per game) than any other 9-man league in CT and throughout the country!

Please make an effort to attend all meetings in order to have an idea and input as to the cost and other details of the league.

Thank you

600 plus ref fees!!! Ten games times 40 bucks is another 400... Thats 1000 for the leauge.. For a two 20 min halves game. 3 years ago it was 400 for the leauge and 30 for refs. Talk about inflation... If gas prices can drop so can these fees. PLEASE!!!

Sean,

First I want to address the "estimated" Spring League entry fee's. We gave an approximation of between $500 and $600, hopefully we will be much closer to $500 than $600 but we have not gotten all the final numbers yet. If all costs stay the same as the fall, we should have no problem keeping the fee down. I would much rather estimate 500 to 600 and end up only charging $500 than selling you a low number and finding out we cant run it for those cost and have to raise the fees.

Anticipate the worst....Hope for the best!!

Also, consider that you also must include two weeks of playoffs into the cost and the fact that if we have the turnout that is expected we are strongly considering 11 or 12 regular season games.

As for the ref fee's, you are incorrect... they will actually be $45 per team per game. With the league picking up the cost for the Championship game.

There will be 3 refs per game, using the official MCFFU national rule book (with some minor changes in local tradition and time). This year the league will be flying in the MCFFU head of all officiating for a weekend of training and certifications with our officials.

P.S. Game times will be at least 25-28 min. per half(not 20)

We are working hard before, during and after every season and event to add to the quality of our product and provide you with the best flag experience there is.

Thanks for your questions.....HOPE TO SEE ALL THOSE WITH SUCH STRONG OPINIONS AT AT LEAST 2 OF OUR PRE-SEASON MEETINGS(Somehow I doubt it)

Sean,

Those prices are comparable to many leagues across the country...
For instance, in NEFFA we charge $550 per team and the refs fees are another $50 per team per game for 8 guarenteed games... so another for $400 for the grand total of $950..

In NY its something like $980 per team and another $90 per team for ref fees..

standard of living goes up each day, month and year..

Chris does a great job and offers more (hardware) than anyone in the country..
and i've been involved in quite a few tourneys and leagues in my 5 short yrs in the game..

I'm not saying you don't, but people should appreciate the guys who get up each sunday morning and sacrifice there sundays for the love of the game.. its not the money because no one can get rich and make flag fball their livlihood.. and those who do, usually have to cut corners to do so..

if you want to make money in flag fball.. become a ref..
