| Sad day for baseball yesterday. Wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on how this will all play out. I am betting that A-ROD will have his best season yet this year. Hopefully all of the names will just be released. I guess my new favorite players are Pujols and Texeira. I still think that A-Rod is the best I have ever seen however. Does it DQ him from the HOF? Will all HR records be thrown out from this era? Baseball will rise again as soon as all this BS gets out. What do you think?

| I say keep all the records. The hitters were on roids and the pitchers were on roids and the coaches were allowing them to focus on hitting for power instead of hitting for what the team needed in the situation. It wasn't clean or moral baseball, but its just too hard to say which numbers should stay and which should go.
If we're going to take away these numbers then we need to take away any numbers achieved by guys on amphetamines in the 70's and 80's.
I say put A-Rod in the HOF, but Bonds better be right next to him, and hopefully Pete Rose too, but that's a different story. In my book the 3 best hitters I've ever seen live are Bonds, Pujols, and A-Rod, roids or not.

| I think that Rose and Bonds are in the same boat. Both of them lied over and over and then gave half truths. At least A-Rod will be able to make it a positive thing unlike Bonds. Cheating is much more immoral in baseball than betting for your team I believe, but both lied for too long. A-Rod will put up HOF numbers even if you take the three years out.

| I guess at this point I don't this should be more than a 5 minute story. We know that lots of players on both sides of the ball were doing things. It shouldn't come as a surprise any more.
I'm just glad they haven't started testing for the WBA. I wonder what the reaction would be when at least 1/2 the players test positive for trace amounts of alcohol.

| Agreed Tesch, Rose should absolutely be in, especially if they let any of the roid users in. And then if Rose gets in, Shoeless Joe might get in also. Make that, shoeless Joe has to get in. It would be a great story next to their spot in Cooperstown. They should tell the story of both Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe, it would add something to the HOF, not tarnish it.

| Tesch and Frankie, I concur. As I heard someone say on a podcast the other day, it's the Hall of Fame, not the "Hall of Guys We Really Really Like Who Had High Moral Integrity." If that were the case, Teddy Ballgame wouldn't be in there. He was a racist a-hole, but he hit the ball perhaps better than anyone ever. Bonds, A-Rod, Pete Rose, Shoeless Joe, all those guys are a part of the game's history, and if you were telling somebody about the history of baseball and events/eras that shaped and changed the game, you absolutely couldn't do it without including those guys. May not have been the most trustworthy nice guys, but they played the game like few or none before them.
Much like Happy Gilmore and hockey. Maybe not the greatest player ever, but he does hold two records: most penalty minutes, and he's the only guy who ever took his skate off and tried to stab somebody.

P.S. Did you guys know that Carl Weathers aka Apollo Creed was the guy who played Chubs in Happy Gilmore!?!?!?! I had a relevation the other day.
