| The EDSUA is hosting their annual spring umpiring clinic on April 17, 18, and 19 (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday).
They now have a $25 'guest' registration option which is for people that would like to take a clinic without becoming carded or becoming members of EDSUA. I would encourage teams from our league to send representatives to take advantage of this option.
An apparent three-day clinic may seem like an onerous time commitment, but not all sessions need be attended. Most of the sessions run Saturday (9:00 - 4:00), so that is the most important day to attend. No actual sessions are held on the Friday (it's more of a social time plus a guest speaker).
Note also that Softball Canada updates their official rules every other year, and 2009 is an update year.
