To whom it may concern...Would it be impossible to get some kind of loan and have a fencing company put real chainlink at midway? I really think it is a concern being out there just the other day and seeing how bad the posts are and the condition of the fence itself are in. I know the fence really doesnt come into play all that often, but we are having better competition coming to midway all the time and i think that it would be a good investment. I don't know if the company would except monthly payments or if a bank would give midway a loan or what would have to go on, or loan from someone wealthy in the area and pay them back of course? Just an idea, but the nicer and safer our field is, the more we will want to play there and more teams will want to come play at midway only benefiting our club!

I tried to get that already but the people in city hall don't have a clue. They gave me the run around and now they are suppose to be fixing those fields up so the cal ripken league little league can play there. Only because i expressed interest in it, are they gonna play there now. Nothing i can do about it though, i tried. But, its still a bunch of bull, it went 10 years without anybody playing on it, what a waste...

If the birds buy the material I can put the fence up since I have a ton of experience with chain link and others. I would have to negotiate for labor costs but I'm sure it would be a hell of a lot cheaper then having a company do it. just a thought, also there is a company in aitken that has used chain link from other ball fields.

I don't know if we could even get a loan as who would back it? I know I am not signing into any debt. Lending is pretty tight but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I asked a company in Deerwood (Oberg Fence) and a rough estimate was like $10,000 to do the whole thing or $5500 for just the outfield and that is installed. If you know where to get chain link and truly believe you can get it installed properly that would be nice.

It would be nice to get

I was thinking if possible to do 4 ft high from the dugouts to the corners of the outfield and 6 ft high along the whole outfield... We would need one walking gate in centerfield and a 10 ft gate down the left field line and maybe one in the corner where the batting cage lives. I can check on material costs at dakota fence company in fargo here, and other companies around here for price. This whole fence thing is just an idea and wishful thinking i'm sure, but it wouldn't hurt to check into even if just for future use!

If we got a loan from the Bank it would be a 1 year note so that is not really an option as we would not be able to come up with that kind of money in a year.

Dang! I wonder if a local business or any other place of business accepts payments like a creditor or if they expect the bill to be paid in full upon completion or does anyone have a menards card or could midway open a menards card and purchase the material and tony can put it up since he is a professional fence putter upper cuz the payments would be low on that...? just another idea men...!

Leave the old fence...it's what makes it nostalgic, there's a chance for death on every flyball.

Somebody get their Menards card out for Chuke....that's all I got.

There must be some Spring fever with all the action here, good to see.
A new fence would be great, for multiple reasons, but unless somebody figures out how to win the lottery I think we are stuck with the Midway Blue and Electric Yellow around Matt Leritz Stadium.
Keep the eyes and ears open though, a guy never knows what can happen

Maybe Dusty can put a brick wall up to match the dugouts.

SE Menahga? Sounds like a Dick or Big O spotting. A new fence would be nice, but it is nice to have the element of danger with our current fence, its provides more entertainment for the fans. Not a bad idea though if we had the funds. All I know is we are lucky to have the Snurdbird Open to keep us above water.

We re-measured the fence last night with an actual tape measure:
left field line: 331
left-center: 344
center: 361
right-center: 333
right field line: 313

bases and rubber are accurate.
