| This was taken off the MCFFU website. With a win in the Chip the Gunz or Chargers could take over the #1 national ranking. WOW
The CT NIT will Dramatically Change the National Rankings...
A win in this weekends Connecticut NIT by the Young Gunz (CT), Outkast (MA), Chargers (CT), Silverbacks (RI), Deathrow (NY), Omni (NY) or Real Deal (NJ), can literally catapult any of these teams into one of the top 5, including the #1 overall spot in the 9-Man Ineligible National Rankings.
The benefits of this is huge in terms of a teams’ position in the up coming VA Beach National Championships this coming June as teams jockey for position.
A top spot in VA Beach ENC could lead to a possible first round bye (based on total team count) and/or a softer Saturday schedule, which will all but assure anyone a spot in Sunday’s Single Elimination Round giving them a great chance of winning and receiving the 650 pts up for grabs. The 650 pts will all but assure any team a top 16 spot in the World Championships in January 2010.
Another thing to watch after this event will be the number of teams that will drop in the rankings. Several idle teams will be pushed down, which causing for some interesting, but tough early round match-ups in the VA Beach ENC, where teams will be fighting just to make it to Sunday.
Of all the teams, Real Deal has a chance to make the biggest jump from the 22nd slot to the top spot overall with a 3rd or lower finish by Omni (NY). At worst, they would have the #2 seed overall. A win by Omni has them secure in the top spot, while the Chargers and Young Gunz would have sole possession of first place in the National Standings with a win, regardless of where Omni finishes.
Deathrow mathematically cannot gain a first place spot with a win, but finishing anywhere in the top 4 would place them ahead of premier teams such as Powerhouse, Main Event and the defending WC Champions, Baltimore Packers.
Favorites: Outkast (MA) and Omni (NY).
Sleepers: Chargers (CT) and Young Gunz (CT)s
