| Over the last two days there have been numerous questions and concerns raised regarding a wide range of topics in the league. I apologize for not publicly responding sooner however I am having problems with my home computer and have been working doubles the last 3 days. With all the slander and assumptions being thrown around, I felt it necessary to leave work early to resolve all issues before people continue to speak without knowledge of the situations in question. I have, in the last 2 days been in contact with all team captains about the VALID questions that have been asked. With their input and past precedent I have addressed these concerns to the best of my ability.
1. The playing fields...........
The city of Hartford has been contacted for the 3rd week in a row, both by email and by phone in regards to the mowing of the grass. We have not received a response. I will personally inspect the fields on Saturday and if they have not yet been cut by the city, I will mow them myself before this Sundays games.
2. Rosters........
As we have done in the past all rosters are to be finalized by the conclusion of your 3rd game of the regular season. Players must be on the roster and have participated in a minimum of 2 regular season games in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs. Your roster may contain up to 30 players that are not playing in the GCFFA South Spring league. Players cannot play for two different teams in the same league!
3. Players playing between the 2 leagues.......
There is no rule in place that states that a player who plays in one league cannot play in the other....however said player must have been on both teams rosters when rosters were finalized following each teams 3rd regular season game. Again said player must participate in a minimum of 2 regular season games in order to be eligible for the playoffs.
4. Stats and scores..........
Apparently some people have not noticed that to the left of your screen is a menu with a SCORES section as well as a STANDINGS section. Both of these sections are and have been updated by the tuesday after each weeks games. Just because there is nothing on the message board, that doesnt meen the scores and stanings have not been updated.
5. May 31st schedule.............
As previously stated, I will never punish/penalize any team that chooses to participate in an out of state tournament. With the amount of teams that have decided to participate in the NEFFA event, I will reschedule the games for that weekend. THOSE TEAMS WHO ARE NOT TRAVELING WILL BE PLAYING ON MAY 31st!!! A revised schedule will be for that weekends games and make-ups for those teams traveling will be released as soon as possible.
If there are any questions that haven't been clarified or if more questions arise please feel free to contact me directly. All of my contact info is accurate and available in the CONTACT INFO area on the menu bar. Or post your name and team and I will address you personally as you do me.
Players, I am truly sorry if anyone feels that the league is not up to par this year, however I find it odd that people who sign in as FAN and CT FAN and numerous other alias' have not spoken to me directly about such concerns. If you are such fans and supporters of CT flag you wouldnt be on the boards with nameless bashing, you would be reaching out to lend your assistance as a few have in the last 24 hours. The fact is you are not true fans just haters for whatever reason.
The message board is an option on these sites that I allow to operate without screening and ALLOWING annonymity. If people do not know how to act like men on here than we could change the settings so that NO annonymous posts are allowed. I enjoy the board as much as anyone and it is a great tool for the game, but we have to recognize that people from all over the flag community as well as friends and family frequent our site. Ask yourself if you would like it if your children saw som etof the things that have been posted over the last 3 weeks? Also consider that when we are applying for new field permits or league sponsers that they too like to see the site to get an idea of what they are getting involced in. Would you sponser our league after reading our board? I'm not saying to stop anything onhere, just cosider your audience when choosing your words.
I will continue to work hard on improving the leage and ask that the questions and suggestions continue.....Just in the appropriate manner to warrant a response.
