Your guy is solid but lets just look at it this way and you said it...he has been out all season thus far.

Shallenberger is...well lets just say he is Shallenberger.

Lindstrom already has 7 jacks this year and is batting over .400 I believe plus he is not that far removed from being a AAA player.....which is further then your guy got.

Hey your guy is solid and I will not argue the fact that he is perhaps the third best SS in the state even though there are plenty of good ones.

However offensively speaking he is not there with Shallenberger and Lindstrom......hell the Park National got to see Lindstrom swing it for atleast a couple seasons is yours or other guys memories that short lived.....

Your guy is damn good no doubt but the comparison is mute in my old opinion in looking at the other two guys....how much merit do you put on offense when you are determining your non-biased opinion of the "best short stop in the state."

Is Lindstrom from SLP?? I know Shallenberger is from Mlps. Just curious. They are both great players. Thanks.

Old timer got it right with the top 3 players in state. Shallenberger averaged what 20 homers the past two years, that's crazy, Lindstrom again proved his worth in last years State Tourney run, and C. Johnson is flat out a player year in and year out. What makes these players even more tough is they face the best pitchers every year. Everyone wants to beat Tonka and Park so they bring their aces. Also, on any given night they can change the outcome of a game with one swing. I'm sure there are a lot of good players out there, but these three stand out alone from the rest.

I agree with Pete and Old Timer - those three gents are probably the best in the state or at least at the top of the list. However, it is tough to base it on 20 homers in two years when Tonka played about 60 games both years - and half of those are on a high school field. Not tkaing anything away from the man but name another player that will get 200+ AB's in a men's amatuer season? I also agree Johnson get's it done year in and year out - no question, much props to the man who can still hit like a pro. Lindy - same thing, the guy get's it done - he has proven his capability. But the way i see it - this is all subjective and not everyone will agree. We play a team sport and how you effect your team should determine how good you really are. Let's just remember we dont get paid and we will find out who is the best in August - just like every other year.

Tall & Lanky, my bad that was 20 homers in 07, and 19 in 08, for the past 2 seasons for Shallenberger, that's flat out sick.

I have to reconsider on Shally because he hit one jack off me in '07, one in '08 and I believe a couple more in '06....anyone can hit jacks off me just not 900 feet like he has.

Deduct those jacks from his total(s).

Oh by the way he offered to pay me to be his home run contest pitcher in the all star stuff but I wanted 10 bucks and he was only willing to pay me 5.

Let me add something on Johnson that most probably won't believe yet if you consider all the hit by pitches and walks one may reconsider.

Johnson has hit over .400 every year he has played town ball since I believe 1994! That is sick as well!!!!

so are they sick or just really good? I'm happy for them and their successes, but they are still amatuers - just like the rest of us. So unlike you, I really dont have a trophy for them...

Yes amatuers - because we dont get paid... Old Timer, what I was saying is you sound like the jerzey chasers from college. You should probably find time for your family instead of amatuer ballplayers!!!!!

Tall & Lanky, You don't sound like you are happy for their success, you sound like you are jealous! To be recognized by your peers is probably reward in itself. Why don't you suggest your top players instead of putting down other players. The reason you don't have a trophy for them is you've never gotten one. Go buy yourself one and put all-star on it so you can feel better about yourself!!!

Hey lanky......family has nothing to do with this if I am correct. What i do in my down time is what it is......

I will stop there with that but will continue with something else......

I love getting your goat you play right into what I try to accomplish on this site in my family down time and that is to get clowns like you all geeked up.

Keep plugging away. Keep wishing, hoping and wanting and above all else keep trying to keep up with me on this site and while you are trying to do all of that just remember grasshopper family has nothing to do with this.

Oh yeah just to defend myself in terms of the late hour I was at a game tonight where my club actually won. It was a bit of a drive, we hung out after, I ran into an older umpire friend and my boy #10 and I chatted it up all the while being sober (seriously) until 1 AM....

....then just so you know which is very important to me and my family, i came home, took a shower, had a beer and a heater....checked some fantasy baseball stuff out quick and then I thought oh what the heck I will go onto the forum and see which donkey is biting next.

I am your huckleberry slender lanky fella.

You have a good night and keep plugging away boss...keep plugging away.

Aaaaaah one more for craps and giggles. As far as Jersey chasers.....I only played two years of college ball and one red shirt year prior to hurting my arm and I guarantee you I had more jersey chasers after me even when I was redshirted then you had all of your college career....that is if you played college ball at all grasshopper.

I may have to move you up in my forum rankings because you seem to work real hard at it.

Now before you respond don't let your mindless go to your finger tips before thinking things through......ask yourself one thing....is the old timer just trying to get me going on some huff and puff, or is he serious about all this, or is he upset by my posts or PERHAPS YOU ARE JUST FALLING INTO THE FUN OF ALL THIS.

Stringing along, stringing along.......stringing along.

Take care dude and always remember to take time out for your family.

Tall, slender, stately and lankified I am good at throwing slow to get guys out....most of the time anyway.

....I guess I am also good at killing things (grouse, pheasnats, ducks and geese). I am good at catching fish some of the time.

I am especially good at telling stories of which I have a lot of and last but not least I am good at typing fast and being the number one ranked club on my forum rankings.

Other then that I know just a little bit about ball and oh ofcourse I work really hard at being a good dad and husband as I try to take as much time out for my family as physically possible even though I am basically half dead....
