| Due to him going to play for the RedHawks this weekend he is now ineligible to play for the Birds for the rest of the year. Had it been prior to 6/30 he could have re-signed and came back to us and got his 4 games in.
I was not notified until about 3:00 on Friday and by then it was too late.
Just one more thing to "wash our hands with" and move on.

| I am working on getting him reinstated. The same thing happened with a Moorhead Brewer player in 2007 and the board reinstated him so following that precedent we may have a shot.

| I am still trying to make calls. I am having a hard time getting a hold of these guys on the state board but will continue to try.

| I spoke to the state secretary and he has received all of the information I have sent to him. He said he cannot make a comment on it at this time without speaking to the rest of the board so we have to hold Derek out at least until we hear something.

| Do these board members know that today is the deadline if the decision is for me to be reinstated AND need to get 4 league games in? I understand its not a big deal when the get back to us really if I don't need to get 4 new league games in, but its kind of a big deal if i need to. This is kind of a dumb deal now that i think if it...they gotta understand it was just to help the people out, nothing else!

| The board is going to discuss the issue on Monday so we have to continue to hold Derek out this weekend. At least they are going to talk about it.

| The state board has spoken and Derek is not eligible to be reinstated with Midway for the year. The same situation has came up with another team and they voted the same way for this year.
They are looking at changing the rules next year so it is treated like a college wood bat league. The sad thing is is that we pay the price for it but again, it could have been prevented.
This is done and no need to ever discuss it again. There are still 19 guys on the roster that are ready to play ball.
