| Sorry, I'm not sure if I spelled that name correct but why did our field have a name sake and why has it been painted over?

| The sign used to read Billy G. Boyer. He was a long- time post member. He also started the American Legion baseball program. Bill was a true baseball man. In his later years he came out of retirement and ran the concession for a couple years prior to his passing. Bill was known to give out a couple of Jarvo specials even when he [ Jarvo ] wasn't present. One thing in life that is constant is change. A new sheriff, not knowing the history has chosen to start a new chapter.
