| Can we get an official statement on the playoff schedule?
I'm guessing: Tuesday 9-8, 1 v. 8/9 Wednesday 9-9, 2 v. 7 Thursday 9-10, 3 v. 6
and then...Friday night or Saturday morning???

| You are correct as far as I know Azucar Grande. The 4-5 seed game #1 is Sat @ 10 and then the other teams play their second games. If the teams close out a series on Sat and they have a dance partner, then game one of semis will start on Sunday. if not they wait and play a game during the week and then comback the following weekend to finish the series and so forth.
Hope this helps. Commish in training, bigpapi

| Two things: A. To clarify the rain rule. If we get rained out on Wednesday, we will play on Thursday and Thursday game will be pushed to 10:00 on Saturday???
2. Did Budweiser get kicked out of the league?

| Generally B follows A and 2 follows 1 but I understand the point you're trying to make.
No, Budweiser didn't get kicked out of the league. Budweiser told Archie that we only had 11 healthy guys eligible for the playoffs, and that if we lose to the Spikes on Tuesday, which is a very distinct possibility, we would be playing on Thursday in the the MABL. Since we would have been scheduled to play the A's, that puts our game on Thursday night in FOY too, since it goes 1-2-3. That would give us 2 playoff games on the same night and neither league will move it and we can only play one. Granted there is a chance we could win Tuesday and it wouldn't matter, but I didn't want to risk forfeiting a playoff game especially considering that if we win Thursday's game, we would play Saturday and possibly Sunday.
Therefore, Budweiser told Archie that he should give our spot to the Chefs.
Shit on me as you wish.

| And to address your other question...
If it rains you will not play the next night, everybody holds their slot...means if you get rained out Wed, you will not play on Thurs, which is the next night and the Thursday game remains on Thurs because everyone holds their slot. You get the rain makeup slot on Saturday. Just like we did last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.
Just trying to help.

| Aside from not playing on the first available day (Thursday, which is probably going to be a moot point because of the the rain), why is the Finals schedule Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday? Isn't the next available day on Tuesday 9/29? Then you can have Wednesday 9/30 and Thursday 10/1 as rain dates.

| I try to be a good guy to everybody. But I'll play devils advocate and try to defend the accused. I am not a lawyer but I'll give it a shot. I'll try not to be argumentative but I will try to make my point. I've been in this league for 3.5 years, this being my third full season so feel free to correct me if you feel I am wrong but be ready to back it up.
I would like to present exhibit A, last years playoff schedule which is still found on the
Take a look at the A's Cardinals series in the first round. Due to rain and going three games they finished on a Wednesday. It's hard to tell but was Thursday going to be your game one of the semi-final round? Were you wanting it to be? I figure the plan all along was to start the second round that Saturday, which probably no one objected too, for everybody and have game two on Sunday. There were no games Sunday for anybody which makes me believe that was a rain out or was the accused manipulating the schedule in some way. The Sox close out on Wednesday and wait for someone to play. Johnny's wins Saturday and is forced to play on Sunday with a depleted pitching staff and gets beat in game one of the finals and eventually loses 3 days later on Wednesday. The accused could of really stuck it to Johnny's and forced them to play on Tuesday on only two days rest. But the point I'm trying to make just looking at last year and my time, although not very long in this league, I can't recall anybody playing two games during the week for any reason in the playoffs. On the weekends yes, but during the week no. My understanding was you play a weekday game and then finished up on the weekend and if you had a partner to play, start a series which would typically have been a Sunday (after the first round of course) but not during the week. Is it set in stone? But that is the way things have gone from what I've experienced.
I ask why would this year be any different in that regard. Was this Saturday not looking good for you for some reason that for you, the best day to get a "leg up" would have been Thursday? It may not have been. Have you seen our record on weekends. Of our 9 losses, 7 were on the weekend this season. Two of those losses, one for each weekend, were on weekends when we had three games in three days. Yeah everybody was up in arms when they saw the A's who were up in the standings at the time had to play three days straight with the Sox being their last game in that stretch. Never mind that people were at the same time begging to have Monday and Friday games because we were so far behind due to rain outs. Well for all the teams that got scheduled for 3 games in 3 days, who was the only team to actually do it. The Sox. Not once, but twice. I don't recall anyone saying that was unfair. But let me get back to the "non start" start of the finals and the fact in my time here i can't recall anyone playing two games that wasn't on the weekend. We would have been fine had we played today but without a "water hose" it got rained out. Now the weekend for us is not looking good. Injuries to a starter, I am out for the duration, job situations among other things will leave us "depleted" again on another weekend. Just been the norm. But we have the numbers to field a team and will play. Will guys be out of position. Yeah. Will it be our for lack of a better term, "A squad" out there, it could cause I know they are capable of it. But we will play at the standard time that we typically play on a weekend @ 12:30. Why ask for and try to get a time change cause some of your guys aren't available until later. Isn't that trying to manipulate the situation. We have guys unavailable too. If you have nine then it's game on. Where's your depth, or your bench for that matter? Can't play without the "guys". So pray for rain Saturday I guess.
I know I'm gonna catch shit for this and deservedly so. But in any argument / debate you have to have two sides stating their case.
The Defense rests.
Again, good luck to both teams. Wish I could be there.

| The Defense needs to rest. That is complete nonsense. If you are going to cut and paste last years playoff schedule, go ahead and let us know what games were rained out.
Also, let us know when the finals schedule was out. I'm sure that Bud and Johnny's knew on Saturday that Game 1 of the finals was on Sunday.
Your right about 1 thing, none of this matters, now. We will show up on Saturday to play the Red Sox "weekend" team with no Big Papi. If we are lucky enough to win, we will pop our 1 year old champagne (that we bought last year). I'm sure it won't taste as good as the 20+ year old champagne that the Red Sox popped in 2008.

| You probably did know cause don't we normally play Saturday Sunday back to back during the playoffs. Is it in the rules we have to play back to back on the weekends. Probably not but that seems to be how it has been over the years so I'll stand by that. I bet had we had gotten our game in on Sunday, one day during the week would have been used for game one of the finals with a rain date built in and games 2 and 3 on Saturday and Sunday. What you are saying is we should of played game one on Tuesday, Game two Thursday, then if needed game three Saturday. Again all during the playoffs we play one game during the week but come finals we are all of sudden supposed to play two because you want Thursday to be game one cause that would "work" better for you and because last year you had to play on short rest never mind it is a weekend and you know that yeah you typically play back to back on weekends. I don't think so. Then to want Saturday's game moved cause that will work better for you. I don't think so. I'll stand up for what I think is right. I just don't get how people accuse us of this and that, arranging this to affect that, causing it to rain on a sunny day, and at the same time want special considerations and treatment cause this or that is happening that given day. You get some granted and some you don't. That's life. But when it doesn't go your way, you say oh he's this, he trying to hurt us. Oh he only did this to benefit them and on and on.

| I am not sure where you get off thinking you know who is available for our team during the playoffs. Our squad is ready to go and would have been ready for whatever, whenever.
You are making assumptions...Just as we are, about what is going on in everyone's mind. We are just ready to get things going as soon as possible.
Everyone should have to test their rotations in the playoffs, not just be able to make it through with 1 or 2 pitchers. Last year it hurt our chances to have to start our #4 pitcher playing back to back games, but that is the way it is.
The problem is, when you add in automatic days off, and then have rain, you open yourself up for interpretations on why we are allowing teams to get rest. Play on the available days and then the off days will take care of themselves with rain. I believe what we are asking is to have a set schedule in mind, post it, and then go with it. That way no one can be accused of scheduling off days to bring pitchers back.
By the way, we have played more than one game during the week and have no problem with it. The back to back weekend games are always more difficult to manage mostly because of family obligations that we all have (every team in the league).
If you really want to make an issue about moving a game back 30 minutes and focus your entire argument on that, then more power to you, I guess.

| By the way, the only reason we don't play more than one game during the week in the playoffs is because it is not possible during the 1st 2 rounds because of the number of games that need to be played. Also, you have to rely on the other series being completed to figure out who you are going to play.
When the Finals are set, tee it up and let it fly.

| Let’s get one thing straight about Saturday’s game being moved. This never would have happened if Archie would have answered my text that went out long before your 3rd game was played asking him to schedule Saturday’s game at 1:00. I think he would have and never told his team 12:30 after the game Wednesday. And I also asked him for a finals schedule so I could pass along to my team so to make arrangements. Again nothing, no response. A schedule, that’s all we asked for. Why the secrecy?
Papi, you said it yourself and it is the way it was last year. If you have a playing partner you play the next day. So what happen (forget about the rain) the finals should have been "scheduled" to start last night (Thursday 24th) Last year we finished up our semi final series on Saturday and was told we were starting the finals on Sunday. Why not this year? Someone please explain that.

| You right D. I was hoping we would have been done this week or at least started for personal reasons as I have explained earlier. Was looking good until we lost and then got all of the rain. I could have stayed until the middle of next week at the latest but it would have cut into vacation time from work, and i would have missed seeing my parents in Baltimore. I know nobody really cares about my life nor should they. I just see the remarks and sometimes i respond nicely or sometimes as a jerk. I like all of you guys but that doesn't mean i don't want to kick your butts on the field and i know that goes the same for you. Johnny's up 6-2 going into the bottom of 4, game is rained out.
